| Usually it's because there are tiny hairs poking them in the eye but sometimes it can be from food allergies and diet. If you're talking about a puppy you can either trim the hair at the eyes or use something to make it lay down (like Vaseline) if you're trying to grow it out. |

| Yorkie teary eyes Yorkies have fewer eye problems with their eyes than many other breeds. All Yorkies have bright shiny eyes which are results of the eyes being "teary". Teary eyes are good, as having dry eyes is a problem and the Yorkie may be getting ready to develop cateracts. Ocassionaly some Yorkies have dry eyes which is a problem related to the tear ducts and glands. A vet is needed for dry eyes. I guess it depends on what you mean as tears in the eyes. My Yorkie has to have his undereyes cleaned every morning. I guess they all do.

| Is there something in particular that you all use for the cleaning? Peanut HATES to get his face cleaned around his eyes, but I've been using a warm, wet baby cloth to clean them. Is that good enough?
