| I am a nanny of a 5 and 6 year old but the family I work for has friends that come over with their 15month old baby and Lily loves her and she is really good with Lily. Lily comes to work every day with me and the family I work for also has 2 lager German shepherds and they do fine with lily ,but I always sit with Lily when they play because one of them is only 2 and she does not realize what a big dog she is and can sometimes play rough. Also I find with kids if you teach the two finger rule when touching a dog that it tends to help them with being gentile.

We don't have any small children living in the house but I have a 23 month old granddaughter and Bella does great with her, but again it's very supervised because Makenzie is just too young to understand that she could hurt Bella and I don't wan't to take a chance that if Bella were to get hurt she might snap at or bite Makenzie (bascially I need to protect them both). Since Gracey is not a puppy (a couple of years old?) and you don't really know much about her personality or history I would really pay attention to how she reacts to your daughter, she may have a fear of children which you'll need to be aware of. Bottom line, don't let them be around each other unsuperivsed and as your daughter gets older and she learns how to handle Gracey hopefully they'll become best buds!

| THanks everyone. I called teh young lady who spoke with me when I adopted her. She said she would probably be here Wednesday. She said she looked like a completely different doggie with her new haircut. I can't wait to get her tomorrow. I sat down last night and made her glass bead necklace with her little pink heart tag on it. It's so cute and girly!!!! |

| Having a little Yorkie is almost the same as having another baby. Supervision is very very important. Your child is too young to understand how fragile the pup, so you will have to keep constant watch and when you cannot supervise, the pup must be put into an Xpen or his crate. I am sure it will work out for you. The pup will be so happy to have such a nice home and your baby will be growing up with a nice little friend. Good luck to you. |
