| ![]() Hi Bullydad, The fold is when you fold your material in half you have 3 open sides and one close one, which is the fold. What is the pattern # I might have it and can tell you better by looking at it. Do you know how to read pattern's? I suggest you take your time and make sure you understand how to place the pattern before you cut it.

| ![]() cut on fold means to fold the fabric Aand place the pattern piece on the fabric so it is lined up in the fold. you will be cutting thru 2 layers of fabric. cut the pattern out but don't cut the side that is along the fold. when you open it up, it will be one complete piece. You will cut two piece just like this. One will be the lining piece. these two will be sewn together with a small area left open to turn it right side out. Then you will have to handstitch the opened area closed. To add the D-ring, I cut a strip of fabric and fold it lengthwise and iron it so the cut edges do not show. this is sewn from the neck to the edge of the vest with the d-ring sewn into it.

| ![]() Go to sew.com and type in "sewing terms". There's loads of info for whatever you need to know. It's a great search engine for any question you have. Good luck! You'll have to post a pic when you get it finished.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | ![]() Bully dad....don't let the pattern instructions overwhelm you....take it one step at a time. Sometimes it's hard to figure out what the heck it means...when you are reading it...as opposed to doing it. Do you want d rings and straps on both sides? You would cut out your vest pieces...top and bottom. Then take bias tape or ribbon...measure so that it extends over the edge....figure out where you want your d ring...some place it in the middle...some on the end....loop the tape through the d ring...sew beneath that to hold it...then place it from the neck to the bottom of vest...extending it over the edges...place your two harnesses pieces right sides together and sew. Remember you will leave an opening to turn the harness right side out. Clear as mud???

| ![]() I am also an oh-sew-beginner! ![]() ![]() ![]() http://www.sewing.circleofcrafters.c...stpattern.html http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/ah_pets_oth...513246,00.html I also went to Wallyworld and bought a couple of shirts and vests in his size and created my own patterns based on those. I am a visual learner, so if I can see it, I can make it. Good luck! ![]()
