Stanford knows that the bed is too high for him to jump off of (I keep it raised up on leg stands), so if he needs to get down, he yaps once or twice, and that is my signal to come in and help him down. They are very intelligent, I think.

That sounds like my house It's more of a screaming "get off your butt NOW" from Simon than a call for help. If I'm not paying enough attention to him he will push his soccer ball under the microwave stand in the kitchen or under the nightstand in the bedroom and SCREAM until I get it out.

He also makes a little whine and paws at the food container when the bowls are empty and he's hungry

We call Wrigley " little Nellie Olson " from the show Little House on the Prairie. She is such a little, bratty tattle tale!
If Crosley is doing anything she isn't supposed to, like bark, take something, whatever! Wrigley barks and will run back and forth between her and us, until she can get someone to follow and see what's up!
They both have ceramic eating bowls, she will push hers across the floor when she wants to eat and if that doesn't work she will sit by the fridge/microwave and whine like she's been hurt!
She's very demanding and likes things to be just her way!
They are hilarious!!

My Connor will take his back leg and kick backwards if he wants his toys, get off the bed, etc. He also will jump up and down in his water bowl if he wants water....they are so clever

YES ! Maya will let one of us know if her Ball got stuck somewhere and she can't get it. She will try a few times to get it herself and if she can't get it she will come up to you bark .... jump up ... whine .... and run to the spot.

These Dogs are so smart !!!!

Gracie lets you know also. She usually does a woof noise. I have not been able to tell a difference between them yet but, I am definately going to try. Like this morning I could not figure out for the life of me what she wanted. If I do try to do the wrong thing than what she wants she refuses to do it. She either will lay down or turn around and try to show me what area she wants me to go to. Eventually I tried going to the door and that is what she wanted even though she had only been in for about 15 min. I never knew having a yorkie could be so much like having a toddler.

Maggie makes little muffled woof sounds when she wants something, and Bailey whines. I'm amazed that they can let me know when they want something, and I can understand them. They are soo smart, and spoiled.

When Otis see's someone outside he will bark like a mad man. Then, where ever I am in the house, he runs to find me and "tell me" that there's someone or something outside.

Default Yorkie noises

Oh yes! Rusty will jump in the bathtub and whine if his water dish is empty. If he catches me eating and no one offered him food there is a noise he makes that means "I caught you!" It's like a sigh sort of.

He makes another noise if he needs my help getting a toy out from under something etc. He whines if he really wants something. He has different barks he uses for people walking by the house, stopping by the house or squirrels or other dogs. Cute!

Oh yes..Rusty TALKS to his Daddy! You should hear him. He makes all kinds of noises while trying to talk!

My Daisy will come and growl at me, but its not a growl, its more like a growl-cry-bark....LOL

Bella will just come and jump on my lap and put her paws on my chest, look in my eyes as if saying 'mommy come look'

They are just so full of personality!

Carol, that is so funny! Toto doesn't exactly "ask" but she doesn't hesitate to "demand"!! The sad thing is that "we", aka her "staff" drop what we are doing and rush to do it!! Aren't we a sad bunch???
