| Is he lonely? So we are always curious about what Malibu does when we leave...Does he go sleep on the bed? or the couch? So we decided to videotape him while we were gone the other day. When we watched it we were completely shocked to see that he was howling!!!!!!!! Only for about 5 seconds, but he did it twice. He is 2 1/2 and we have NEVER heard him do anything like this. Is he lonely when we leave? We are going to record him again sometime to see if he does it each time we leave...Does he need a friend? Or how can we comfort him if he is in fact lonely? It breaks my heart to think that he is sad... |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | He is probably a bit lonely...his parents just left to do their thing. Most of the time I think they sleep. But if you can get him a companion then I say go for it.

| The only time I have ever heard either of my dogs howl was in response to a siren. Did you have volume on the tape, could he have been reponding to something outside or on television? Topper will go crazy if he hears a dog bark on television. So we don't watch animal planet!!! Tammy |

| We didn't have the tv on. It is possible that he heard something outside, its just that he has never howled at a siren before...not around us anyway. Another question...he is a spoiled rotten only child and has been for the past 2 1/2 years. Will he be too jealous of a new puppy? |

| Of course he misses you guys, as he has made you part of his pack. How old is he now? I have noticed Jazzi at 7 mo. is building trust I will be back. He goes with me most outtings, as he seems to be welcomed as most Yorkies are.

| I think that if he is lonely and you are only leaving him for short periods during the day that he will be fine. If you have to leave him for long periods, I think a friend for him would be a great idea! |
