| Wanted to ask before freaking out I just found Gus in his cage chomping away on a tube of Nuti-stat. It was a brand new tube and by the looks at the tube he probable ate 1/4 of it. He made a whole on the end and was sucking it out. He's is a year and 3 months and only 2.8 lbs. He seems fine,,,,,, a bit sticky. Just thought I'd ask before I rush him in to the vet.

| I don't think its dangerous, but I bet he will have a runny stool! Just to be safe I would call the Vet ER and ask them! I bet GusGus is going to gain a pound from that incident since Nutrical is so high in fat!

| Your baby will probably be fine. There are some Yorkies who are sick and live on that for a while. You might see a runny poop or 2. Also, I would suggest you get him to eat something with a bit of fat and protein. He is gonna be on a sugar high and MIGHT crash. The other 2 products will help with that.. Maybe some chopped chicken, or cheese. He will be dumping insulin like crazy to digest the Nutri Cal and the sugar will be used up before the insulin is. That is when the crash can occur. Give him plenty of water..Just keep an eye on him and get fat and protein in him..He might look like a kid who has ADHD for a while..Check with your vet about this, but I would not worry too much..Let us know what your vet says, please. |

| Ok I talked the vet and they said he should be just fine. Just to make sure he drinks pleanty of water. And to watch over him. His po may be runny and not to be alarmed if it's like that till tomorrow and If I feel he needs to be checked to bring him right in and they will look him over. She said he sould be just fine. At the time I was talking to them, he was panting quite a bit, so me being me,,,,, started to panic. My husband had to add,,,,, well it is like a 100 and your holding him,,,,,, Hello!!! I just gave him a bath and now he's running around. Thanks for the responds. Just a wacky and nutty mommy. I blame it on the heat!!! hehehehe

| How is Gus doing? I am sure he will be okay. I had heard from one breeder not to "over use" nutrical as that can cause the opposite of hypoglycemia...I think it is hyperglycemia and I think this is what Whispersmom2 was referring to her in her post about the potential that he might "crash". If you notice anything unusual in his behavior, I would be on the safe side and take him in, but like Whispersmom already said, getting some protein in him should help a lot. |
