| Vaccines and Dose Hi would like your opinions on vaccines and the amount of a vaccine. I have always thought about the amount of a vaccine for a small dogs vs. larger dogs. (It is the same Dose.) When our little one goes for his annual vaccine I have a discussion with my vet as to the amount of the vaccine. After listening to his thoughts I always have him reduce the amount in the vaccine. I do not feel safe with large doses being injected into a small dog. Next year before his vaccine is due again I plan to have him Titer Tested to see if a low dose will still be in his system. I know there are pro and cons on this topic. I would like to hear your opinions. Thank you. |

As much as I hate getting Ellie vaccinated, I let the vet give the full dose. There is a reason (that you don't me to try to explain ) that makes it necessary to give the whole dose. Vaccine manufacturers would be making more money if they made a product with half the dose but I don't think it's that easy. I want to study more about this though. We had a discussion about titers in the health and diet section this morning.
