Donating YT 11K Club Member | London's hair is really thin It's always been thin and her skin dry but today when i bathed her i noticed it is scaly in some places, like peeling off a little. She is not itching that much, only sometimes i see her scratching near her shoulders. I give her fish oil with her food. It even seems like it's maybe falling out a little, i can't tell since her hair has always been thin

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I know a lot of people are going to suggest this product or that product, but the number once cause of dry scaling skin is failure to rinse enough. Even conditioner that has not been properly rinsed can dry out skin. Bath no more than once a week, and rinse, rinse, rinse, and then rinse some more. I use Missing Link and its main ingredient is milled flax seed, which has similar properties to the fish oil you use. Make sure you use a shampoo and conditioner for dogs, human shampoo has a different ph, and can dry out skin.

| I agree with the rinsing, use a spray attachment if you have one. Missing Link saved my girls' skin, both of them had the itchy scaly skin and after a few weeks on ML, it was much improved If you do decide to use ML, start with just a tiny amount, as it does have a lot of fiber and can cause tummy upset (gas, mostly) if you use the full dosage right away.
