| The general rule? Ok i know i have seen it on here somewhere but i cannot find it the general weight rule like doubling at a certain age or something like that i did the http://www.pomderosaranch.com/ToyBreedWeightChart.htm and it is saying 4lbs full grown but i was wanting to compare it with something else to see how close it might actually be. Thanks & Hugs Mary

Triple at 8 weeks, double at 12. If you do a search you will get all kinds of hits.

I did this and my girl should be 4.5 pounds.. she is over 5 now at 9 months old.. I usually go at 8 weeks triple, at 12 weeks double and generally add one pound.. doing it this way, my girl should weigh at 8 weeks this makes 4.5 pounds.. at 12 weeks weight her weight should be 4.4.. adding a pound she should be 5.5 pounds.. so I will see how good this works.. kacee at 12 weeks was 1.9.. he goes 3.5-4 pounds as adult..

I find the growth charts to be generally quite accurate, but some yorkies mature at different rates, so I add a pound to the estimate to get a range. So I would say that your pup would be about four pounds, but unlikely to go over five if there is a late growth spurt. No one can ever really be sure about these things. My mother's girl was estimated to be five pounds full grown, but she reached a healthy six, which is why I add the extra pound to estimates now.

Over six pounds according to the growth chart I use, and you'll have to wait a week for the double it rule, but assuming she grows a bit over the week, also over six pounds. Probably not over seven, but I can't guarentee it. Last edited by Lyssie; 02-20-2008 at 09:02 PM. Reason: 'Weight' for 'Wait', we knew where my mind was.
