Names & Why What are your Yorkies names and how did you come up with that name? |
My yorkie is Preslee. I got her name from the lady that put me in touch with my breeder, redneckwoman. She had suggested it and I really really liked it. |
Buddy was named after a beer :) Budweiser seemed to long lol |
Piper Cub Some on here know this story...I got Piper as a birthday gift from my hubby, who is the GREATEST husband in the whole world, so in his honor I wanted to name my puppy after something he loves. The two things he loves the most (other then our family and Star Wars) is Golf and Flying, so I was going to name him either Mulligan - Mully for short, or Piper after the small 2-seater plane, the Piper Cub, which was popular around WWII. Many on here voted and Piper won and I LOVED that name too, so now he is my little Piper Cub!! |
Tino is Rudolph Valentino (The World's Greatest Lover) bc when I took him out of his crate, he just started giving my the biggest, wettest, sloppiest kisses and it was all love love love and the name just popped into my head. I didnt want to call him Rudy, so I called him Tino. Bunny is Diva Bunny bc my breeder sent me pics and I chose her during the Easter Season...my little Easter Bunny! Then two days before she was supposed to fly here, my breeder told me that her mom was spoiling her like crazy and was chewing her dry food up and spitting it out and then Bunny would eat it. Well, since my breeder won't send a pup home unless they are eating on their own, I thought I was going to have to wait another week. Then I drove down to pick her up from the airport to find that she missed the early flight and kept me waiting at the airport for three hours. When she finally arrived, she looked at me like, "..And who are YOU? Take me home NOW!" So I decided to add the Diva to her name! |
My little guys name is Deegan. My boyfriend is really into motocross, and anytime he can involve it into any aspect of his life, he will. Anyway, Brian Deegan is a freestyle rider. My bf suggested it, and since I thought that it would make him feel more involved with the little guy, and I did like it - we decided to go with it! |
. My Dogs Name Is Lexi Marae.... I Loved The Name Lexi, It Sounds Dainty. The Name Marae Comes From My Mom And Dad. Moms Name Is Marie And Dads Name Is Ray.. So Lexi Marae It Is. |
We came up with the name Chachi because we liked it and my Daughter named our second yorkie Jewels. |
My husband has named both of our furbabies. Both of them he got as a surprise for me and fell inlove with the two angels. Our white pom is now 2 yrs and 4 months old. He named him Monkey :D :D because he clings on you and climbs around you like a lil monkey. And our yorkie's name is Pickles. She's just the tiniest burst of joy. She's so friendly and everyone just falls for her. |
My little one's name is Dash. We decided on that name because my family and I LOVE the movie the Incredibles, and boy has he really lived up to his name!!!!! Any time someone comes home he DASHES to see you or if you leave the door open for half a second, he DASHES outside!! Haha! |
My Yorkie's name is Paprika because she's mine and Adam's baby. Paprika is Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper's baby on the kid's show Blue's Clues. Also, she's very spicy. Her full name is Paprika Malita Chichita Orlowski. Malita is her parents names combined. Maven was her dad and Lita was her mom. Chichita cuz it ryhmes. lol Cailee my other dog was named after a character in a book: Cailet. I picked the name out before I even got her but coincidentally it fits. The character in the book is shy and clingy and so is Cailee. Hehe. |

My maltese's name is Sugar Babie because she has the sweetest disposition of any dog I have ever had. My yorkies are: Gina-because her breeders name is Regina, Hence, Re(gina) and: Lee-because his breeders name is Natalie. Hence, Nata(lie) There were so many cute names I would have liked and couldn't decide so I decided to name them after their breeders. :D |
I'm into state names for my dogs. I have a Golden named Montana, a Jack Russell named Kansas and I named my Yorkie puppy Indiana. We do have a shepherd named Hunter but he's my husband's dog and I didn't get my way with him. My husband was a little upset at me for getting a 4th dog so I told him he could call him Indy 500 because he loves car races... He took one look at the tiny puppy and said "I don't know about that, looks more like a short track racer to me." So HE calls him Short Track. |

My sister suggested charlie and i liked it, even though he rarely gets called charlie. he has way too many nicknames lol! |
i tried all different names and when i said rosie it just suited her, but family call her rosie posie pinkle puppy wendy and rosie :rose: |
Well I couldn't decide on a name for Baby and so we just kept calling here "come here Baby" and such and after two weeks of this, I decided that it should be her name. It really suits her so well and I'm very happy with it. When I first got her, everyone hated her name and they said "you can't name your dog baby.." and I said she's my dog and I will name her whatever I want...and as you know Baby stuck! |
Lady Luna lycanthrope is named after the moon. Because myself and my husband are very into werewolves. |

My Yorkie-Poo "Tyson" is named after Mike Tyson because he was kinda "stout" when we got him and he had an attitude like he was a Rottweiler -- he's fearless and very protective us. And my Yorkie "Coty" is named after my first dog, Conan, that would be 15 if he was still living. He died in January 2000 and I drove to San Antonio 2 weeks after Conan died to get Coty, so I took (c-o from Conan; t-y from Tyson). |
I wanted Chewy to be named Briscoe because I loved Jerry Orbach and am a huge Law and Order fan, but Big Daddy really wanted Chewy because he is a huge Star Wars fan, so I let him have his way on that one ;) |

I just liked the name Logan, but the decided factor came from my husband. He was trying to think of someway to encorporate his love of comic book movies into it and logan fit this. Logan is the person name of the wolverine in the X-men movies. so my dog is Logan "the wolverine" Nolan. this worked for me because i think hugh jackman is hot. Ilovebaby: you can call your dog baby if you want, same thing happened to my husband and I, I named my cat Roxie, but we just kept calling her Kitty. So her name is Kitty. |
I picked the name Teddy because I collect Teddy Bears. He was so little and huggable looking that it just seemed like he would fit in nicely with the collection. |
Rex is named Rex because he like to bite everything. Rex is short for T-Rex. we had alot of names to begin with. Simba-lion in Shahilli. we had snoopy, hershey,and a few others. But Rex stuck |

i chose the name coco as soon as i saw him because of his color...and then one day i said come here coco bear because he looks like a chocolate bear so coco bear stuck! |
Sam I named him Sam after my grandfather that passed away. It is short and sweet and fits him so well! :) |
