| splashing in the water bowl? Does anyone have a baby that likes pawing in their water dish? Buttons water dish is the stainless steel, and I am just wondering if she is seeing her reflection and that is why she does that. Do any of you guys have a water pawing baby?

| My baby does this. I couldn’t figure out why the pen was always wet, UNTIL I caught her in the act of splashing in the bowl. It was so cute but I couldn’t let her know that while I scolded! I started putting less water in the bowl, and now she doesn’t do it as much. |

| Mine plays in the water dish, too. I've never had a dog do that before, but I've also never had a dog that could fit in the water dish. Now I try putting less water in the dish and that helps. |

| Sarge "digs" for water if his bowl goes dry. Lol. It's the funniest doggy quirk I've ever seen. If I hear a scratch, scratch, scratch coming from the kitchen... I know what needs to be done.

| That's exactly why I think Ginger does that..I kept finding water everywhere in my kitchen, and I mean puddles.and the water was filthy all the time..well, caught her at it, think she saw her refection..of course, once there was food she put in there too, and was trying to get it back out..Now, the other day, my dh got up before me, and he said a few minutes later he came out in the family room, and Ginger looked like a drowned rat, think she put her whole body in there that time.. |

| All three of my babies love playing in their water bowl! My boy, Snickers, will work and work to tip it over and then have a great time playing in the mess. He makes sure I'm not watching when he does it though! They love it! |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | animals can sometimes paw at their water dish because its instinct. In the wild they know not to drink stagnant water. They only drinking from flowing water. So to make their water move they paw at it. I had a cat that did this. I bought the petmate water fountain so there is constant motion and he stopped.

| Splashing Ha, Jack does this even if he can't see himself. The water bowl is plastic. He also stays by the ice maker which is on the outside door. When we get ice he wants some to crunch. My other yorkie, Alphie does not act like he is interested in any.(ha). Cheryl |
