| Taking Yorkie Across MX Border - Have you? Hello all! My husband and I are making a road trip this weekend to visit his grandparents in Mexico and are taking our yorkie for the first time. We are only going to a border town (Matamoros) which is LITERALLY across the border and were wondering if anyone had taken their yorkie/dog and what was their experience. I have all his vet records and what not up to date. Someone told me I would need a health certificate but my vet said the records should suffice. Help! I'm a little nervous. |

| I have taken Lucy with me to Mexico a few times in the past several months. I've never had a problem, however, I always take an up to date health certificate (my vet charges me $10) because I would hate to get there and not be able to cross...That's just me. Have a nice trip Welcome to YT!

| have they asked you for her health certificate? I'm going to take my yorkie's health certificate with me, but I just want to see what the process is? How about when you come back into the states? |

| We didn't take Murfee. Richard wouldn't even go across the border because he was afraid they wouldn't let us across....but we were in Laredo and we all know the kind of problems they are having there!!!

| I think all border towns are having issues now. But I think if you have all your dogs records (vaccinations, health certificate) we should be ok. |

| Our neighbor had to go to work in Mexico for 2 years..during the last year, his wife and their little dog went over there to be with him..When they were getting ready to come home(they were flying back), they wouldn't let the dog come back, can't remember why, but, their plane was getting ready to take off, and they had to leave their little dog over there..she said luckily a woman at the airport that lived in Mexico, said she would keep the dog.. |
