Omg!!!!!! OMG....you won't believe what my puppy did this evening!! Help, please!! We got Avery at 3 months old and he was a doll. He's now 7 months and is a holy terror!!! I just don't know what has gotten into him. About an hour ago I walked from the kitchen through the living room and there he was STANDING ON THE COFFEE TABLE!!! That is in addition to....he's getting the fake ashes out of our fireplace with gas logs and chewing it up all over the floor! AND that is in addition to him getting into my potpourri and stringing IT all over the floor! He has plenty of chew toys and I bought a new one this week. I scold him and swat him with a newspaper and I don't know anything else to do. Please someone give me some suggestions! Why is he doing this all of a sudden??

Just a yorkie He is just being a yorkie. Placing clear antiperspirant on things you do not want him to chew or play with will help. My boys get into everything, you need to puppy proof your house or you will be spending your entire life, picking up after him. LOL

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | hehehe ...He was entertaining himself... I hate to laugh - but it IS funny and yes they can make a HUGE mess - If they can get away with it - they will. If I were you I'd put up stuff you don't want him in...It's really hard but if it's TOO accessible - he'll just keep doing it cause it's FUN. |

If he's potty trained you know how long it can take to train a Yorkie(unless you are one of the lucky ones) When my babies do something wrong I pick them up and show them what they've done and tell them no. If it's pottying in the wrong place I then put them on the paper and tell them to use the paper, use the paper and if they are stubborn like Lacijo, I pick up a corner of the paper and rattle it so she (I hope) knows this is paper. LOL Like I said, she's stubborn. But I use the same technic(sp) for anything they do wrong. Except I don't plop them on paper. LOL Sylvia

Now, let's see, if I remember correctly, I read a listing of the reasons you should not get a puppy and one of them was....you guessed it....if you are one of those people who must have an immaculate house! No one can make a bigger mess than a yorkie! I can promise you that! I'm experienced. You should have seen what kind of mess this "little angel" of ours made yesterday afternoon. They grow out of it. You just have to puppy proof your home: get a fireplace screen; put up things that they can get into. Puppy-proofing a home is no different than child-proofing a home. At least, you know they are safe and so is your stuff!

Well, NO...he's not housebroken either (the little bugger)!! This is just awful. He's so ornery I can hardly believe it. Our female never behaved like this and now she sits there and looks at him like he's a crazy man!! The coffee table?? OMG! The antiperspirant idea is a good one, except it won't work for a coffee table, potpourri, or ashes! ARG.............
