| This guy was so mean! Almost made me cry... Well i'll start off by saying that I am 22 years old, and currently taking a break from UCF. I only have two classes left until I graduate with my Bachelors. I have been job searching for a couple of months now...I really couldn't figure out what I would want to do! So yesterday I found this website for "Always There Pet Care: http://www.alwaysthere.biz/pet_sitti...ando.html#jobs Wow! This would be the PERFECT job for me! I am a really friendly and honest person and I LOVE animals, especially dogs. Well I check the page and even though it says that they aren't hiring right now, I still wanted to call and see if maybe they would be hiring any time soon. Well I spoke to Ken(I think he is the owner) and he got all mad and started ranting about how he didn't want to hire people anymore and how he was sick of dealing with people. He was very rude!! I really hope he isn't like this with his customers! Jease maybe he was having a bad day or something, but there was no reason for him to be mean to me!! This really bugs me....but I wouldn't want to work for someone like him anyway! So, does anyone else have any suggestions for me for work? I would love to start my own little pet sitting/walking business, but I wouldn't really know how to go about starting it...

| I'm not sure what to suggest about how to start your own business, but I just wanted to say it is a good thing that you did not get a job with that guy! He sounds like a jerk! |

| Well Courtney, guess he had his panties in a wad. Wonder what he is doing in a field where he has to deal with people. I'm sure there are people on here who can help you start your own business. Good Luck

| Down here, they put ads in the paper when they do that kind of work..start off by trying that..people are always looking for someone that can pet sit so they don't have to put their pets in a kennel..I know my sister gets a girl to come stay at her house and take care of her dogs |

| I agree with hha...start by placing ads in your local newspaper. But first, you would need to figure out your advertising and price list...how much you are going to charge for pet-sitting and/or dog walking. Come up with a cute, catchy name and you're off. There are some here who have their own websites & businesses. Hopefully they can come on and offer some suggestions also. Good luck! And glad you're not working for that guy...what a jerkypoo!

| There are lots of pet sitter sites to view. There is also a Yahoo Pet sitter site that people who are in the business talk about their business. They are a really nice group of people. http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/AboutPetSitting/ Shelley |

| Try posting on Craigslist. Its free and there is a pet section, as well as services offered section. I see ads for pet sitting/walking alll the time. You see some examples here: http://www.inlandempire.craigslist.o...ry=pet+sitting |

| Hello, That is so sad to see people act like that. If you would like to start a business like that, perhapes look into getting a job under another pet sitting/walker business, that way you can learn the ropes. Good luck

| I would finish college and then find a great job that you have been training for all these years. Don't pay any attention to people like him. It isn't worth the effort. |

| I posted my first ad on craigslist! This is what it says: Reliable, Friendly, Honest Pet Sitter (Orlando, FL) I can pet sit, in your home or mine! I love animals (especially dogs), but I have experience with dogs, cats, birds, lizards and snakes! I would also be happy to take your dog for walks or do any other housekeeping jobs! I am available to stay overnight, make daily visits, or can pick up and drop off your pet when needed. I look forward to meeting you and your "babies!" Please e-mail me if you are interested or if you have any questions at all! Do you think this sounds ok?? Also, anyone have suggestions on rates to charge?? Thank you all so much for all the suggestions...that guy really ruined my day earlier, and you ALL made it better!! Now I need to think of a name for my new business...
