| Can someone explain this to me? (names) Okay I have been wondering about this for a while, ever since I saw a dog show on TV. How do you choose the name that your dog is registered with AKC? They are all so crazy sounding and long! I know on the registration papers it says "be creative", but what should I do just make it up? The breeder doesn't have a kennel name to use or anything. How did you guys choose your babies' names? |

| I combined KaCee's sire and dam's names to come up with her registered name. Her mothers name is No Rhyme or Reason Rubie and her father name is Kanyans Crusin' In The Fast Lane...so KaCee's name is No Reason To Be In The Fast Lane!

| My first yorkie's registered name was Katie Scarlett O'Hara of Tara (can you tell I'm a Gone With The Wind fan?...LOL). There was no kennel name to use so this was what I came up with. When we got Gabby, we named her Gabrielle's Jewel (Jewel was her mother's name). And then we have Gage who is just, well, Gage...we rescued him from someone here in town who just didn't want him anymore. And since he didn't have papers, Gage is not registered. As they say, be creative - go with something fun. The more unique, the better

| What I did is just have whatever name that I think fits my dog and then add my last name in it. You can really do whatever you want. Mike is naming Marty (one of Tinkerbells puppies) .........."Marty Where We Are Going We Don't Need Roads BamBam McFly". Marty McFly from the movie "Back to the Future." "Where we are going we don't need roads" is a quote from the movie and BamBam is the name that he had when he was a puppy. I hope that this helps, but just really be as creative as you want. There is no right or wrong.

| Its hard to be creative...I'm still trying to think of a good name for my Persian cat before I send her registration in. I picked "My Fair Lacy" because it sounded like "My Fair Lady" which is a movie. My sister picked Rylie's name by combining the sire and dam's registered names.

| Archibald (aka Archie) is registered as Shamrock's Sir Cary Grant. His breeder's kennel is Shamrock and my all-time favorite male movie star is Cary Grant; Cary Grant's real name was Archibald Leach. Archie is such a handsome little charmer that I think the name suits him! I had originally chosen another AKC name for him, but never got around to registering him with it, thank goodness!
