Fortunately, we don't have this problem. My boyfriend was very leary about getting a Yorkie because he had heard that they can be yappy little dogs, and he did not want that. So from day one, I would knock around the house and ring the doorbell, just so he would get used to it. And I think he is now.
But even when I first brought him home, he never did pay much attention to people coming over to visit or whatnot.
He really only barks when he is playing, which I don't mind.

Bridget just started this to, the smallest noise will set her off! at times it is a amusing, but last night at 3 am, not so cute

I second that!!! It is very annoying in the middle of the night. Any sounds in the house gets Lily investigating and barking. Yikes

Bell barks at everyone and everything that comes near our house. The other day we had someone come to the house to fix the pool. SHe went nuts!! But the funny thing is, even though the door was open, she never went outside. Just kept barking and going nuts. Now if someone actually comes into the house she normally calms down. Guess she really didn't like the pool guy.

I relate how Teddy is acting to when a child goes through being
scared of everyone except Mom. Like I said I am hoping this is
just a stage because he isn't a yappy little dog he has just lately
shown tendencies of being a big chicken. I have no idea why
one day everything is fine and the next day it's strange but some
of the things he has also been scared of are his reflection in the
glass door of our entertainment center. I don't think he has stepped
foot back in the room since he saw it last night. I even picked him
up showed him it was nothing opened the door showed him there
was nothing in there and still when he saw his image it was like he
had seen the boogie man. Today the new monster was my daughters
mesh laundry bag. She was hiking it down the steps and I think he
thought it was attacking her. C'mon we do this weekly it isn't the
first time he has seen it but I can't believe how fast he growled and
barked and then ran in jumped into my arms like I want my mommy.
It's almost comical....but still I hope it is something just passing or
we may have to re-name him chicken little.
