Looks like a platinum yorkie to me. Hope you find his mommy soon!!! |
He's such a cutie! Thanks for keeping us updated, so many of us will be checking this thread regularly to see what happens. I wouldn't worry too much about changing your ad. If one of my yorkies went missing and I saw I sign that someone found a silky, and terrier, a small dog, heck even a schnauzer I'd probably call (in hopes the person just didn't know enough about dogs to know what he/she had). He looks like a yorkie to me, but I think its really hard to tell them apart. Silkies are supposed to be bigger, and their "show groom" is different, but as someone with two 13 lb yorkies....I know first hand that size is not a definite indicator |
suh a cute baby, did you find his mommy yet? |
just checking for any updates... |
Owner Owner come out where ever you are! May be old people that own him and have just chunked it up to hes gone as you know those kind of people are set in their ways! |
have received two calls now, but both were looking for black yorkies, in the 4-5 lb range, obviously not this little guy. It is still early here (10:15 am) so maybe later in the day will get more response. I felt really bad for the two people that called though. I will keep you all posted. If we do not find the owner today, my sister is going to pick him up tonight. That way he can start getting accustomed to her house if that is where he is to live, but I also have easy access if someone calls. |

praying for a happy re-union. How wonderfuk that you saved him. ANOTHER SAD REMINDER TO MICRO-CHIP!! |
Still looks Yorkie to me. But as earlier stated...I too would answer an ad referring to any type of small dog if mine were missing. |
He looks like a Yorkie to me. |
He looks like a Yorkie to me. All silkies have floppy ears I think. |
I'm glad someone bumped this up. Whatever happened with this little guy? He looks exactly like Tucker and Tucker is a yorkie. Even with floppy ears! |
Prayers being said that this lil guy is found by his family, he must be so scared. |
He was actually a Silky. He had come from a puppy mill. He was used as a breeder. He had not had a lot of socialization, and was a bit timid still. His owner had recently adopted him from a rescue and had not had a chance to get his chip registered. He had gotten a bath, and then somehow gotten out of her yard on Thur. night. He had walked several miles by the time I found him on Fri. morning. His owner actually found him through the ad I posted in the paper. Here is another interesting fact though. Avid microchips can NOT be read by any other scanner, the other scanners will not even register that there is a chip. We just happened to feel this one on his neck. Some vets say that the avids will show up as an avid chip but will not give the number, but this one was scanned twice with other scanners with NO response whatsoever, then the avid was used, and it popped right up. Preston is going in for neuter and puppy teeth removal on Mon. and I am still debating the whole microchip thing due to this. I don't know if someone else picked him up if they would have bothered with scanning, so I wonder how useful of a tool it is. Not saying there is no one else out there like me, who is more worried about returning the dog to the right family, but just saying if it were someone less scroupulous, why would someone bother? Anyway, Little Mister as I called him, Monty as his real family called him, and Montana as registered, did return to his rightful home. |
This is an older thread with a happy ending! http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=115966 I really admire rentfrog for finding this baby's parents! |
