Aww he is so cute, I pray his owners claim him, They must be frantic. |
You're a star :animal-pa What sad eyes!!! Hope you find his owner soon. Kudos to you for working so hard to find them and even line us an alternative. You are the woman!!!! |
Bless his little heart and Bless your BIG HEART  for being such a wonderful rescuer to this little guy. This is how we got our last yorkie Peanut. He was rescued by a wonderful person that never found the rightful owners. He was truly a blessing to our family. I hope you find his Mommy and or Daddy. |
so Glad you picked him up someone could have hit him i bet he misses his family sure hope you find his family ,he sure is cute though. |
Bless you for keeping him safe and warm! If you put an ad in the paper, or fliers up - I would first look him over thoroughly and see if there are any identifying marks (birth, mole, etc.) that only the family would know about. Once it's made public, you'll likely be bombarded with that's-my-dog calls, and from some folks who don't have his best interest at heart. Unfortunately, people who run dog fights look for free small dogs as 'bait' :(. |
Poor baby, he is so lucky you found him! |
oh he is lucky you came along glad he is in a safe home |
Well lets hope he wasn't taken by someone from another town or state and given a short hair cut to disguise him, and he also managed to get away, maybe from inside a fence. He looks like a Silky to me. He has a Silky looking face. I hope you are able to get him back to his family where ever they are. I'll bet they are heartbroken. |
Praying for a happy reunion...hope you are able to find his true family. Bless your heart for taking care of him until then. |
Be Careful Having just been in the exact same situation, be very careful and screen the owner(s) when they call to claim him. I did the same things you have done, found the owner (who was not too thrilled to get the dog back, or so it seemed), only to find him wandering in much worse shape a month later. I know my case is probably an abnormality, but maybe go see the owners first without the dog, and check them out. If they are truly "good" persons, they will understand. And they might have a pic, or more info. I wish I had never returned Stanford to his previous owner...he was half starved and had tremendous hair loss when I got him again. Now is part of my family forever. |
A mole Yes... look for that. By his haircut I think it is probably done at home (I hope because it is bad) but if not a groomer might recognize them by moles. My min. schn. got out of our house a long time ago and was gone for months. We even had got the kids (heartbroken) another one from the pound. Anyway, when we took the poundy to the groomers and were talking about her, she was like... oh yeah... didn't she have a mole on her back and we said yes! And she said " I just groomed your dog for a hairstylist down the road". The lady refused to give us the dog at first because she said she was shaggy. Well, lady...duh... it was long because it was the middle of winter and it was dirty because she is an inside dog who escaped to roll in the mudd after a bath!!!! We had a flyer right in her shop parking lot. She just wanted a free dog in my opinion. Oh well... all that to say ... groomers really notice moles and unusual markings (nip out of ears) (weird toenails) that kind of thing. |
checking for update |
2 Attachment(s) I received one call yesterday, but the man said his yorkie was black. So from a comment earlier on this thread, I (like everyone else probably) do not know the difference between yorkies and silkies well enough, so assumed he was a yorkie. Should I change the ad to say found yorkie or silky? Right now the ad reads Found yorkie date and place found my phone Be prepared to offer identifying information There are several things I left out, such as sex, color, appros age, and whether or not he was intact, specifically so the caller could tell me those things. I have called all of the groomers and vets in the area now too. Here are some pics for you guys to let me know if you think he is a silky. He was kind of hard to get pics of. 1) He is against the fence, my little Preston is the one laying down 2) side view, not good for determining silky or yorkie, but the best I can do |
by the way, in the first pic, notice the nice chicken wire at the bottom of our chain link fence. This was doneto keep the little houdini Preston in OUR yard instead of the neighbors. HA HA Funny thing is, the neighbor is a family member and really didn't mind Preston's visits, but I didn't want him to have to worry about whether or not he kept his gates closed. I didn't want to take any chances on my little guy disappearing like this poor one did. |
He is so cute , not that I would know but to me he looks like a yorkie. I so hope you are able to find his owners soon. |
