| "Somebody else's problem!" (dog) This weekend five mix (lab/shep) breed pups (10 wks) were either dumped or came out of the woods (stray mother) and were roaming the neighborhood. I saw them Saturday morning up by the horse farm (called owner, not his)...not wanting to take someone's dogs (rural area..most dogs run loose all the time), I decided to watch....Saw them again at night (no way to catch in the dark...barbed wire fences and someone will shoot you if they think you're trespassing). First light I saw the neighbor chasing them out of his trash bag collection...ok, not his...then I remember the chicken man...he will kill the pups if they go near his livestock. In the meantime, two different cars on their way to church (?)went right past all five running near the street...think they would stop? NO! Had my hubby climb up to get my haveaheart (no kill) trap and called my daughter to help me catch them...and bring her larger cage. We took them up to Petsmart (give them to good homes) in a local NC city where we were told we can't sit in their parking lot....called one No-kill rescue group here were told we would have to "donate " for them to take each pup. Finally another rescue group (Pawprints) agreed to take them and find them homes. I know these groups are non-profit, I have worked with Yorkie Rescue for a long time. Our local (county) shelter euthanizes weekly due to overcrowding. I can't just walk away from these guys...AM I THE ONLY ON WHO CARES? Am I the only one who has just given up on society? roxanne

| keep tham all!!!! lol, jk you did do a good thing and i hope all the babies find good homes. i find it very odd that a rescue group would ask for a donation before taking in the pups. did they ask for a specific amount? maybe i just dont know enough about how they opperate, but it just seems strange to me |

| Finally another rescue group (Pawprints) agreed to take them and find them homes. You did good! Apparently some others care too. Hubby and I have rescued and rehomed or found the owners to lost animals over the years. It can be heart breaking and rewarding at the same time.

| What a great thing you did for those puppies. Now they will be able to be adopted into the loving homes that they so deserve.
