My guess is that their ears are down because they are frightened. They have not been handled by people before, nor had their pictures taken before.

I'm glad she decided to pass on this one. But the advice is still valuable to others who are looking.

None of them looked particularly happy to me...but i'm not saying they are not healthy, and i agree with some of the other comments, all of those pups are not good examples of the breed imo. and also the smaller the pup the pricier they get.

No breeder should be striving to breed "pet grade" dogs...they should be striving to breed great examples of the breed. However,

8 weeks is too young to go to their new homes. The YTCA requires reputable yorkie breeders to keep puppies until they are at least 12 weeks.

Reputable breeders do not have that many litters a year...they certainly don't have 4-5 litters ready to go to new homes around the same time. Several litters for sale at once means LOTS of breeding dogs.

Also, I'm sorry but these pups do not look well-bred at all...

I know, it is just a registry and isn't really that big of a deal for a pet...but I personally wouldn't buy from a breeder that didn't have AKC registered dogs..just my personal preference.

I also don't like that they don't show their breeding dogs on their website...usually not a good sign.

The breeder i got Pixie from was a hobby show breeder who only occasionally had pups available for pet homes, Pixie was too small to show or breed from, thats why she came to me.

While I am excited that your little yorkie will have a companion soon... I looked at the puppy pictures before reading the comments from other YTers and I agree with the majority of the posts. It seems that with other registrations (non AKC) breeders can get away with A LOT. While you are looking for a companion, this guys guarantee or lack there of ... the pup may end up with health issues that in the end may cost plenty. Good luck.

Yes, it's awful. But none of the others look like that, that is why I think broker.

I don't think he is a broker when i did speak with him he was telling me that him and his wife take care of the puppies and that i was more then welcome to come see where they were all hand raised. So I dunno

Yes, he may take care of the babies, but did he actually breed them? Are the parents on site? If not then I would say he is a broker.

It depends what you are going to be happy with. Don't think you are going to get a beautiful Yorkie who is going to represent the breed. You are probably going to get what most breeders would say is an ugly Yorkie.

Not that there's anything wrong with that... I don't want to offend anyone, but I do speak my mind.

What does "pet quality" mean? Well, a good breeder will sell a youngster as a pet because, she needs the money, its bite is off, perhaps she is keeping one of the opposite sex or something like this. That's theh pet quality you probably want.

What does "pet quality mean" to puppy mills and this type of breeder? I would say anything with papers. Rarely are you going to see a beautiful Yorkie and it came from a pet store or the like.

I notice a lot of people bought a dog that is not considered to be a beautiful Yorkie and even though they adore their dog, they NOW want to buy a beautiful Yorkie. Well, now that you have the luxury of this forum and all the education it has to offer... I think you should take the advice given here and buy your beautiful Yorkie THIS time. Yes, the puppies on his page are cheap as Yorkies go but 750.00 is still a lot of money. I wouldn't give him a penny. As far as him being the nicest man in the world, well, that is very nice but B.S. talks and quality speaks for itself.

Yorkies are a beautiful breed and they are not cheap.
