yorkie sleeping in your bed Of course they sleep with me, all five of them. I love it and they love it. People that think about bacteria, probably will get the bacteria. I even eat ice cream with them, each one of us on one side. I consider them my kids. And I agree, crate your husband and sleep with your yorkie. I can't stand people crating their pets.;) |
My yorkie is very young only 6 months. I never let a dog sleep with me before her. She is always in my bed or the kids bed. I sometimes think about oh boy this is bad we might get something in the bed if we continue. I just keep her clean and let it be. Now I do try to keep her at the foot of the bed or the middle. My kids let her get under covers if i am not watching. Because she is sleeping with us I bath her once a week. Maybe more depending what she has gotten into that day. |
Ritzie sleeps with me and I wouldn't have it any other way. We have our normal routine. She gets a little treat before she goes to bed. Then she jumps up on my husbands chest and lays there for a few minutes, then she goes to end of the bed. After about a hour or so she crawls up to her pillow which lies behind my head. I am not worried about any bacteria at all. People are find all kind of things that make people sick these days. Before long we will have to live in a bubble, so I will take my chances. Besides there is nothing more precious than watching Ritzie cuddle up next to us and sleep. It would be awlful lonely on the floor by herself. |
 Jack will lay on a body pillow until i get to bed. then he waits for me to get all tucked in and still. Then he forces his way in between my leggs and sleeps with his head on my butt. I am a big guy and i guess i am just about the best pillow in the world .... |
My bed without Adelaide would be empty! Even the DH would think so! LOL! She has had accidents like the others have said, but most of the time she barks when she wants down.....so if I don't hear her its my fault! You can also buy or build doggy steps so that they can get up and down safely! But I would say go for it! They are the perfect bed buddies and If you have to wash the covers every now and then oh well!:D |
both my Tiger and Annika sleep with us . . .we would not have it any other way . . . I think my babies are absolutely very clean as they are indoor dogs . . .of course now that spring/summer is coming I might take them a few times for walks depending on my schedule . . . but will definitely get them cleaned up when they come back inside . . .good luck on whatever decision you make regarding sleeping arrangements . . |

oh tracey, they are all sooo cute lined up like that in bed . . . . . the more the merrier right :) |
Conner allows my husband and I to sleep in the bed. We had a queen bed since we were married 25 years ago. Conner started sleeping crosswise between us. Rather than disturb him, we went out and bought a king size bed!! |
all of my babies just started sleeping with me. don't know where hubby is going to sleep when he is home on R&R from Iraq. have a queen size bed- plenty of room- but each one of them has to lay right next to me-my own yorkie blanket. woke up the other morning with one sleeping on my back |
For a while I let Charlie sleep in the bed with us because we had our inlaws dog stay over and he got in the bed no matter what and I felt bad that Charlie was left out so he slept with us for about a week and he didn't pee in the bed. Last night he went back into his crate because he's not quite potty trained and he'd go pee on my carpet :( Maybe when he's fully potty trained. |
I have no opinion about it. I don't mind sleeping with Pao but he loves to sleep on my knee and I can't really sleep because I turn a lot and I can't turn when he is on my knee. I will wake up with a cramp on my leg and I kick a lot when I sleep (so says my hubby). So I really don't want to kick him as well so now he sleeps on the couch next to my bed. Its like his king size bed. Another thing he does is stand on my chest and stare in to my face and poke around my face with his cold nose but I love that one :D |
Sharing space I guess it's everybody's personal preference and has little to do with germs or bugs. I sometimes allow Walker to nap with me, especially on weekends when I want to sleep in and he wants to get up. But I don't want to make it a habuit or he might not ever want to sleep by himself anymore. Also, I'm always concerned he might fall out of bed and hurt himself and since I have another dog plus a husband, it gets pretty crowded.:D But we do love the occasional snuggle, there's nothing wrong with that! :animal36 |
I let Chip and Smokey sleep with me. It makes me feel better since hubby works night shift. Chip sleeps under the covers, by my feet, or next to my head and Smokey sleeps on my chest. |
Both Autumn and Blaze sleep w/us. Hubby will go looking for them if they are not in the bed by the time he comes up and he hates when I get up and take them downstairs w/me! He tells me "We were snuggling here, do you mind?":D |
I always allowed Tobey to sleep with me and the cats.. Izzie sleeps in a her cage until she wakes up in the night after that she sleeps with me and my boyfriend. But since she is the newbie I try to let the other ones get some sleepy time with us b4 she joins in.. This morning I had Tobey and Izzie in sleeping in between my legs, one cat on top of my boyfriend's pillow and the other cat at the foot of the bed... I need a king size bed, I don't think the queen is big enough anymore...LOL... |

I know what you mean! |
IMO, they made dog beds for a reason..I like my space when I sleep, sometimes, I feel like kicking the hubby out of the bed too.. |
Mine has a crate that we used for housebreaking, but now that's over, we let him sleep in the bed with us, only he will occassionally get up and lay in his crate, then get back in the bed with us. But there is nothing better than when they lay right up as close as they can be to you! |
OF COURSE my Jess sleeps with us. Just cannot imagine that she will sleeps somewhere else... no way...:D and... she is not just in bed, she is on my pillow, or so close to me like a 3rd hand...:D regarding bacteria.... it reminds me Michael Jackson... :p sorry... |
Mandy and Tina sleep in their little beds next to us and Kayla sleeps with us. She is either on my hip or my husbands. She jumps back and forth. We have 3 very spoiled little girls. Mandy only sleeps with us when there are storms and she gets scared. I now give her a calming pill that helps. |
My two sleep with me and have been since i brought them home, neither of them have ever wet to bed ! Would not have it any other way :D |

Bella is allowed on our bed but she does not sleep in our bed at night. I tried it twice and didnt' get any sleep. Lucee is not allowed on our bed because she is an 80 lb black Lab that sheds like crazy:eek: They both sleep in our room but in their own beds. |
Teddi just sleeps in a ball up on a pillow above my head! She usually ends up falling in between the pillows and all I see in the morning is a little head sticking up with really bad bed hair!!! I love the morning look! |
Actually, we have a tradition already. every night when I go to our bed, she immediately lays dawn on my left arm and I hug her. Her head on the pillow and she is under blanket. Or, as I wrote before, she sleeps above my head on the pillow. But, usually, she loves when I hug her....:D |
My Yorkie sleeps next to our bed in his crate. He was trained to sleep through the night with a light towel over the crate by his breeder. We continue to do this same "lights out" routine and he has done very very well. |
Holly is 9 months and has slept in our bed since we have her. She loves it and we do to. She loves to snuggle. She is very clean and don't really see a problem with it. (To each his own, I guess.) |

I wouldn't be able to sleep if I didn't have my 2 yorkies and several cats on my bed at bedtime. The cats and dogs have free run of the whole house. When I have a dinner party I have to make sure someone is guarding the table until we all sit down to dinner. The cats won't jump up on the table once people are sitting around it but before that they see it as fair game. I know people say I love my yorkies more than most people and I say you're right, I do. |
Mine are aloud up on my bed but when it's time to go to sleep, they go to their own bed. |
