Sleeps with us too!! Jolie' :aimeeyork first started out in a crate because she was so small and the bed was so high....but now she is in the middle of us. :animal-pa |
Several of our furkids sleep with us and one with my son! :D :D We crated them until they were trained and got big enough so we wouldn't roll them up in the covers but now the Queen Miss Sophie sleeps in our bed all day long while we are at work, etc. She even has steps to get on the bed. As far as the bacteria thing........there are some people who are dirtier than dogs!! |
My little yorkie, Chloe is now two years old. I have had her from the day she was about two months old. I do not know if she would ever go to sleep if she was not by me. If this is wrong then she and I have done it wrong but she is my baby and our love for one another is very strong. She weighs about three pounds and will never be much bigger. I have a greatgrandaughter who lives with us and she and Chloe love each other but when Chloe is ready for bed she is ready to come to my room. |
Our Tink has always slept with me. When she was a wee little thing I put her in her soft case (In the bed to protect her) and covered it with a little baby blanket as my fan ALWAYS runs on high. Now she does not know she is a dog and she sleeps with her head on a pillow UNDER the covers. She is bathed regularly and she does not go out as she is piddle pad trained so no bugs on her. I can not imagine not having her to reach out to during the night. Spoiled.....yes she is!!!! Loved she sure is. |
All 6 of mine sleep in bed with me or should I say they let me sleep with them. They all have there special place on the bed. Every once in a while Rudy will get in one fo the dog beds by my bed, he doesn't like to be bothered when he sleeps. They are bathed once a week |

Mine sleep with me:D And i never feel lonely cause of them for the days i sleep home. My bf even said cause he has Teddy right now that he never feels lonely, Teddy is his buddy. Sometimes he will go to our room when we are in the living room all by himself and we will catch him sleeping on our bed, the huge bed all to himself lol |

Puddin and Muffin each sleep in separate, rather large metal crates complete with fluffy pillows and blankies. Our bed is quite high off the floor, but little as they are, they can jump up on it whenever they feel like it. Apparently, the bed isn't soft enough for Puddin because she works at the pillows on it until she can sleep right on top of them (messing up the freshly made up bed - yikes!) Muffin prefers not to jump up on the bed when Puddin is there -she knows Puddin will give her "what for" if she does. But when the coast is clear, she'll jump up there for a minute or two. |
Our babies sleep in the powder room together, we have a tall captain's bed and I would not want to have them fall out. Media also says co-sleeping with your human children is detrimental... we co-slept with our children anyway. I say do what your heart tells you to! |
It's Lacie's Bed 1 Attachment(s) Our little Lacie Girl has been sleeping with us since about 4 months old. We kept her in a crate by the bed when tiny, but she soon learned she could jump on the bed, even though I couldn't believe she could jump that high. She seems to know when its about our bed time, and will come and sit and look at us, making a little whine, turn, and "pity pat" up the stairs and to bed. She lies at the end of the bed until I come in, then on her own good time, comes up and burroughs under the cover, making a big project of getting comfortable, and as close as she can get behind my legs. The only reason I can think of for not letting your pet into your bed, is if he has been rolling in the mud or something. I think most Yorkie owners keep their small dogs clean and beautiful. I know I do. I refer to myself as "Grandma" since we have both Grandkids and Great Grandkids. I am attaching a picture of Lacie last month of Lacie with her 3rd birthday cake. Grandma |
Yogi and Bogus sleep with us every night and when Dori and Maggie are here, (they are my Granddogs) they are right in the middle too.. Since Yogi was 10 months old, every single night somewhere around 2:00 a.m., he slowly walks up to my face and puts his little wet nose on my mouth to see if I'm breathing and then I hug him and he walks back to the foot of the bed and goes back to sleep...Soon after that, Bogus will come and lift the covers with his head and nudge me to let him in and he curls up next to my stomach under the covers and sleeps there till daylight..I can't imagine this missing from my nights;) When the girls are there, it looks like a big dogpile and somewhere in the midst is me and hubby:D What a blessing to be loved by a Yorkie! |
I would have no problem with Pixie sleeping with me if only she were not so little...either she would fall off the bed or my big hubby would roll on her! |
Yes, My Yorkie sleeps with me [FONT="Comic Sans MS"][/FNT] Yes my little Maggie sleeps with me, My husband just loves her so much too. She is just too sweet and tiny, We also have a boxer, she is 12 years old, sweet old gentle dog, No she doesn't sleep with us:D |
I sometimes let me dogs sleep with me .The only problem I have is they are so small I am afraid my husband or I will squish them during the night. And I have one who loves to sleep on me .If i am laying on my side she will find the highest point and make her bed there useuallymy hip.So if I want a good nights rest I have to put them in theire beds.I know they would prefere to sleep i my bed but I need my rest. |
well by day the bed has 4-5 dogs on it and at night 1 dog plus hubby and i. |
I love having Chloe sleep with me, however she did pee on the bed Sunday night. So now I'm confused on whether to let her back on it. From my understanding dogs don't usually pee where they sleep. |
I have had that happen also.THe only thing can figure is My bed is so high she cant jump down by herself and it is so big that she just wondered off to the bottom corner went potty and then came back and went to sleep.I did not notice this until the next day when I was making the bed.I guess make sure they go potty right before you goto sleep and hopefully this wont happen again. |
I've had my cats and dogs sleeping w/ me in bed since I was 9 yrs old... And I wouldn't want it any other way:cool: :D |
OK, at first I was like "no way, he will sleep in his crate all night!" Burn! He's been sleeping with us for a year and a half now. What I do, since I am a bit of a germ-a-phob, I wipe his paws with baby wipes before bed and brush him out and spray him with his deodorant spray. This may or may not be affective but it eases my mind. |
I have no problem having dogs or cats sleeping with us in bed. We have 2 shepherd mixes, 2 cats along with the "top dog" Buster (yorky). During the day we all nap in bed together. At night Buster needs to be in his crate or he will bark at everything that moves imagined or real. He came to us crate trained at 5 yrs old and it seems to work best for him I think the news story about bacteria and bugs stems from the new data about how fleas are distributed through the different stages of their life cycle. What I've been seeing about this info is that if there are fleas present you have the adults, but the large part of the problem is the maggots, eggs, and flea "dirt" which is present whever you're animals sleep. No fleas no problem. Wash bedding frequently this helps too. If you enjoy cuddling up with the furballs I say go-for-it. I've had some sort of animal (dogs, ferrets, cats, guinea pigs) sleeping in my bed since I was around 8 yrs old. |
Kash sleeps with us in the bed. and my cat sleeps at the foot of the bed. sometimes both cats do, but one of them is scared of Kash. lol. |
odie has slept with me since the day i got him. he wouldnt ever sleep in his own bed, and since i have a huge California king lol he doesnt bother me. but here lately i have been sleeping with my door open and letting him stay in the living room that way he can get used to not being in my bed, because my fiance is such a light sleeper and says he doesnt want him in our bed after we're married... =/ at first i was sad, but ehh, odie doesnt seem to mind so its no biggie now |
I have two yorkies, one who loves being with me all the time, on the couch, in the chair and of course in the bed. Rajay sleeps over my head and loves it. Jayra sleeps in the bed in 13 minutes intervals, checking to see if I am still breathing. Then he jumps out of the bed and sleeps on the floor. My husband never liked little dogs until I got Rajay 2 years ago. Dogs in the bed, NEVER. But's with Rajay he allows her to stay in bed with him after I get up. He even allows her to sit on his lap and on the arm of the sofa when he's on the computer. I keep both dogs clean weekly. It's a pleasure to wake up to some one who cares. |

The real question is "what is your yorkie's opinion on letting you sleep in their bed?" :p He sleeps with me, but he's up and down all night. |
my 3 sleep with me, and sometimes they even allow DH to sleep in "their" spot...LOL |
The Yorie Bed HI! Yes, We let the Yorki sleep in bed....My husband set the rules when we got her...NO DOG IN BED! NO DOG SLEEPS WITH US! She can come up every once in a while but she will not sleep with us..WELL...let me tell you something! The day she was spayed...my husband's replay was "Mom...she just got fixed..we can't let her sleep alone..we need to keep an eye on her".That was 2 years ago. Do you know where she sleeps? Smooch tells us when it is time for bed. She grabs her bone or her small treat for bed and she is off to bed. AS long as you keep them clean and groomed I don't see any problem. |
Sleeping Jack, Alphie sleeps with me in the bed. I won't allow them to sleep with my husband he snores. And we need our sleep. In fact they are there now, Sleeping away. I don't know any other way. Cheryl;) |
She sleeps with us... My baby girl sleeps with us. When I go to bed I lift up the covers and she runs underneath them and sleeps at my feet all night. At around 7am she comes up and kisses me to let me know she has to go peepee.:aimeeyork |
