| I dont think just size can distinguish the difference between a yorkie and a silky because I have seen some bigger dog that still look like yorkies, but at the same time when I first became a member here I was so sure a few of the dogs on here were silkies. you can easily get confused

| If I'm not mistaken, don't Yorkies have Australian Terrier in their heritage? I know that Yorkies were developed by breeding a few kinds of terriers, and may also carry Maltese in their bloodline. So if Silkies were developed by breeding Yorkshire Terriers back to the Australian Terrier, this would explain why so many Yorkies look like Silkies, and vica versa. This would also mean that the only thing that really distinguishes a Yorkie from a Silky, is that the Australian Terrier blood is more prevalent in the Silkie, but they both still have it. I've always suspected that my Mother's larger Yorkie has Silky in him. |

| I went to Pet Warehouse a couple of weeks ago, and they are now selling puppies . They had some yorkies that were small (and kind of sickly looking) A lady was looking at them, and when I walked by with Preston she said something about wanting one that looked more like Preston, and the lady that worked there said she thought he was a silky, that yorkies aren't supposed to look like him. I know Preston is a bit of a teapot, but come on. Here is my little Preston doodle after his first snow romp. |

| Just very loudly stated, "Silky my a**, just a yorkie that is healthy instead of sickly like those poor pups." |
