| ![]() Welcome to YT! I know it is so so hard to wait, but don't settle for any dog when you know you want a yorkie from a reputable breeder. Continue looking cautiously for the right one, and maybe you can keep putting money away to save as you are searching...then your budget will grow as you are searching for your new baby. Just try to be patient...you'll be glad you did in the end. I always recommend www.ytca.org to start out looking for breeders. Good Luck ![]()

| ![]() You sound like you are in the same position we were almost a year ago. We just had to be patient. We didn't have much money either and ended up paying $750 for Chip. Smokey was free, but he was a rescue. Good luck and don't lose faith!

| ![]() I spent a year looking for my baby. I didn't have $1000.00 to spend on a pup so a breeder was out of the question for me. I just kept looking at the for sale ads in my area and I found a lady who has 4 yorkies and she had an oops. Usually she separates them while the girls are in heat but didn't get to it in time. I went out and looked at Tessa, looked at the parents, the place they lived and looked at her brother too. They all seemed happy and healthy. Tessa did not come registered and did not come with a health guarantee but that was a chance I was willing to take. She was alot cheaper than a breeder though. So far she is healthy and since I plan on having her spayed, a registeration was not an issue for me. She is my baby and I love her with or without having her registered. ![]()

| ![]() i think you should wait for your perfect yorkie, it will be worth it in the end. even try rescues, they always have dogs that need homes for a lot less. you can also try seeing if any breeders have any older puppies that they are willing to sell for less. i don't think you should get the pom either, because if what you REALLY want is a yorkie, you won't be 100% happy with the pom, and will jsut go back to wanting your perfect puppy. give someone else a chance to get her who really does want a pomeranian. oh yeah, and please don't buy one from a pet store thinking that they are telling you the truth. when my mom bought my mika, she was told that she was going to be a tiny yorkie 5-6lbs. she is between 9-10lbs. not that it matters to me, i love her just as much, if not more. please make the right choice.

| ![]() Mojo - I'm not going to get a puppy from the pet store. It's just really REALLY hard not to when I know they have them and within my budget. I know I need to be patient, but it gets hard at times. Xnatalie - you are probably right. I knew when I started looking for a dog that I wanted something small. Searching through breeds produced both yorkies and poms - I decided then that I would rather have a yorkie because (it's silly, I know) you can dress them up in cute clothes from time to time. With poms, sometimes their fur gets so big the clothes don't fit them right, and you can't leave them on long. I met a lady at Petsmart with a pom who was experiencing this very problem. Breny - I did visit your site and saw that you had a boy. I have had quite a few people say that they will have girl puppies near the end of summer / beginning of fall - but that just seems soooooooooo far away! LOL But, I have heard nothing but good things about you and your puppies and if by some chance I don't have a dog by then, I am definitely calling you. |

Donating Yorkie Yakker | ![]() I waited for Gabby for months after I found the right breeder- she had to be born! This lady is in Bellevue Ohio- she has sold puppies to people in Michigan and we got our Gabby from her!!! You should check her out- her place is clean and she cares about her puppies- when you look at her site- look for Gabby in "puppies sold" copy and paste the link to your browser!! ![]() ![]() http://www.geocities.com/trcburkhart/ |

| ![]() Well, I don't think we can tell you what to decide. Only you can make that decision, but I wish you luck. Don't settle for less than what you want, however, sometimes we forget that what seems less than perfect can be more than perfect for us and bring us more love than the perfection we have imagined.

| ![]() I also think you should wait for a yorkie. That's what you really want and if you get the Pom you may still want the yorkie. Maybe you can think of driving a little further out of your area. Or like Myfairlacy said, keep saving. But it's really your decision in the end. I do wish you the very best. ![]()

And if I had to pick a personality trait my Boy ( Kodi) has a better one than the Girls. He is my Man ![]() Pixie my Younger Girl Loves Toys too but she is still under a Year. |

| ![]() I have a boy and I love him more than life. I understand your wanting to find a little girl to dress up though, if that's what you're looking for. I'm eventually adding a little girl to our family. You CAN find some pretty cute stuff for boys, it's just much much harded. These dogs have larger than life personalities though and once you fall in love with one, I don't think it'll matter whether it's a boy or a girl. They can steal your heart in a heartbeat! (No pun intended, lol). Maybe keeping your options open will help your search a little? Boys are also usually cheaper. :/

| ![]() I really don't know much about poms, so can't help you there. Have you thought about getting a Yorkie from rescue? I think there is an adoption fee, but it would be far less than a breeder's cost. Just thought!
