I'm not saying that people shouldn't alter their cats though. I think it is silly to let cats breed uncontrollably (so outdoor cats would have to be spayed/neutered but I don't need the gov't to tell me that. I used my brain.;) And I don't like being forced into anything like that. I wouldn't want to see an indoor cat in heat all the time but still, it is MY choice. I know it might be difficult to enforce but why can't they come up with a law for the people who DO let their animals breed uncontrollably? Not a law for responsible people. |

while i think it's a good idea, I also can't stand the idea of the goverment being able to tell me what to do.. i'd love to see that law fly here in tx. I wish ppl would just be responsible on their own, but of course that will never happen with every single pet owner. I/m not a raging hippie but just get the creeps the more power the goverment gets no matter what it pertains too.. |
Farmers say here the best fed cat is the best hunter for it will not have to hunt to feed itself it will hunt for the thrill, and more rodents are killed that way. They can kill big rats!I have never seen a cat run from a rat unless it is a big corn rat or one that has been around for awhile feeding and gorging itself, the sooner they are gotten less likey they will turn into the big ones.ick. |
I have to say the concept on this sounds like a step in the right direction, the number of unwanted cats running around here is so sad to see, some of them look like there suffering from malnutrition and sickness, but I just don't see how this will ever be enforced....looks good on paper though.... |
Well, I hope they get the law here in SC, I'm getting tired of all the neighbors cats jumping on our cars and getting scratches in them, they should have to be on leashes like the dogs do. I know my brother had a cat, it got to be around 14(of course he had her spayed young), and started peeing all over the place..they finally took her to a no kill shelter. You go in the shelters down here in the summer and it's filled with cats and kittens, and the sad thing is they can get cats spayed and neutered in this county for so reasonable..I just don't understand people! |
