| ![]() I'm hoping that since most people who provide stud service are professionals about it, that nobody takes her up on her offer. All ads like this bother me...b/c someone needs to know what they are doing when dogs are bred. Somebody needs to supervise the breeding, and she needs to know how to care for the mother and pups properly as well. Hopefully she doesn't get to breed. |

| ![]() From what I have read you shouldn't breed a female under 5 lbs...the risk of complications is too great

| ![]() So sad! How could someone expect such a tiny dog to bear pups?

| ![]() Go and look at the ads everywhere Yorkies are sold. You are in the minority when you do not use the term Teacup. I have spoken with numerous people who tell me that I am uniformed when I try to explain the standard for the breed does not have a Teacup and I do not use that phrase. The really funny thing is - when you have a chance go and look at some of these Teacups. They may be advertised with that phrase but when you go and look at them you will find a puppy that may be 6 weeks old and weighs 2 pounds or more. I take my scale with me and this one breeder had babies that were over 4 pounds at 8 weeks and was calling them Teacups. She sold them all because of the phrase and the public who bought them did not know any better. The sad side is the breeder who is breeding a very tiny female in a effort to get the little ones or who has a small unhealthy puppy that they are trying to sell and the public does not know the differance. You would be very suprised at the number of people that offer a male for stud who know nothing about breeding or the Yorkie Standard or what can happen if you breed to small a female. wnalegria | |

| ![]() Lady was 7# when she got pregnant by a 3.8# male. She had 2 puppies. I have heard that a female who has 5 puppies is rare. If this (started to call her a name) woman gets a stud for her girl, how many could she have, one? That is not worth the risk. What if the studs parents want a puppy? That's just a mess. I wonder if she even knows her girls background. I wonder if she's savvy enough to check the prospective father's background. I know of 2 breeders on Puppyfind that breed to get the smallest dogs they can, probably for the money. If she wants another tiny dog, why doesn't she just buy one instead of risking her baby? Well, maybe it's not love. Sylvia |
