| Playing... or fighting...? I have a 3-year old Yorkie (Bo) and a 4-month old pup (Kimi) (both females, with the same mother). The first few days after we brought Kimi home, she really wanted to play... but Bo just didn't want anything to do with her. Now, it seems they're playing all the time... only, sometimes, I'm not too sure whether they're playing or really fighting. It seems pretty "intense", with all the growling and yipping...! Is there a way to figure out if they're just having fun or trying to kill each other... |

| believe me, you will know if they're fighting if you see a fight break out..right now, I'm sure it's all play, and they will growl when they're playing..watch their tails.. |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Sounds like my two. They're playing....there isn't any teeth being bared right? Mine play fierce sometimes, but trust me....when the "fight" isn't playing...you'll know it.

| It sounds like play to me also, as (hha said) "You WILL know when they're fighting." Alot of us have been through it and gotten great advice here. You can do a search here on YT and just put in keyword "fighting". Good Luck!!! |

| But can they bite or hurt each other when they're playing? I just noticed that Kimi has a wound on the side of her face, just below the ear. It's pretty much dried up and starting to heal... but I'm wondering if maybe Bo did that to her... |

| Personally, drawing blood is not too playful! Toby growls like crazy with playtime with big sister Kallie but neither has drawn blood! I might not let them play so rough or separate them for a bit. Yorkies play hard and do a lot of growlling but sounds like they are trying to win top dog spot. JMO

| You'll know by the sound...when Ginger(almost 6 mos) brother comes over(my son has him), the growl and play, now yesterday, I could tell when the one got pissed and they started fighting, so broke it up, but, there is def. a distinct sound when they're mad |

| I would monitor Bo when she's playing with Kimi if you're that concerned! Maggie would get carried away and try to pin Bailey down and shake her, scared the beans out of me, not to mention, Poor Bailey was scared to death. I put a leash on Maggie for a few days and kept her by by side and every time she went to attack Bailey I'd give her a firm tug. You just have to be aware of Bo's stature, I can tell when Maggie's ready to go into her terrorizing state of mind. Good Luck!! |
