| What do you mean by "scissoring"? How to use scissors to cut their hair? I brush Ellie's teeth with CET Vanilla Mint toothpaste once a day and use OraVet once a week.

| You have to show 'em who's boss I am afraid....be firm in tone of voice and tell them "no nonsense" and just go for it.....once they see you are going to cut hair or clean teeth despite all their wriggling, the soon just let you do it ! (....to a point) Better that than endless anaesthetics though ! Little and often at first....toothybrush often, and by the time they need the calcified stuff chipped off,(sharp tool needed) you will have 'em trained to just let you do it....they are never keen, but they do submit. Try meat flavoured toothypaste and a tiny brush, ....and when cutting hair, just go "Uh Uh uh!" every time they move in a stern voice.....loads of praise and cuddles and a treat after though ! They really don't mind this at all after a few trials......I just say "Stay" and they let me cut fringes, nose hair, around the eyes, bottoms, etc....the same goes for cutting the nails !!! Best of luck....remember you are boss ! Debra x x x Tara 7.7years Tammy 4.5 years Casper 5.3 years Tammy, Casper Clause, Tara Last edited by HighlandYorkies; 01-20-2008 at 03:03 PM. |
