| ![]() I'm can get a shih tzu from a rescue and when I brought my little guy to meet the other little guy he didn't want to even look him in the eyes-I'm hoping it was seeing that my lil Scrappy was in a strange environment with several strange dogs around him. I know many people have both yorkies and shih tzu's..I've had my yorkie since he was a wee 4 months old, and he is now 2 1/2 and the shih tzu I would be getting is a 2 year old male as well. Will there be any issue bringing this grown male dog into my grown male dog's house? I would hate to upset my baby, and I would hate to upset my new baby as well. Help me out please!! Thanks so much! |

| ![]() I would highly recommend that you have them meet in a nuetral area. Your little guy was probably upset cuz he felt he was in the other dogs territory. Then you can see how they interact together without distractions. If you explain this to the people at the Rescue I would think they could help you find the right place for this. That's what I would do!! Good Luck. |

| ![]() Last month I brought Harley home as a sibling for Chip. Harley is 2 years old, and I've had Chip since he was about 1.5 years old. They get along fine, since they have the same temperment. Looking in the eyes of another dog is sometimes a show of aggression, so your dog could be showing that he is being submissive.

| ![]() My Mother Has A Shhtzu And Bleu Loves Him But At First It Was Kinda Crazy I Agree Take Them To Neutral Area And Then I Bet The Yorkie Dominates Good Luck Keep Us Posted Cause My Little 2 Pounder Dominates Shooter (shih Tzu) He Is Big But Shooter Will Lay On His Tummy And Submit To My 2 Pounder But They Play..now Since Bleus Surgery Im Sure We Wont Be Doing That Anymore But You Should Not Have A Problem Just Watch Them Closely And Their Personalities Before You Make Your Final Decision Good Luck Vicki

| ![]() Thank you all so much! I am new to this site and absolutly love it! We did walk the 2 guys together at the shelter, and again, my lil Scrappy just pretended that the other guy wasn't even there. It may have had something to do with the fact that is was freezing and we all just wanted to go inside! |

| ![]() I have a shih tzu that will be 10 in March..she has always been fine when I've brought new dogs in...I put the new one on the floor and let the other ones sniff the new one, usually they just smell and then walk away..Is your oldest male neutered? You have to give it time, they will soon learn to like eachother |

| ![]() In october I brought home a rescue, Smokey. For the first two weeks it was nothing but pure dog fights. Now that Smokey figured out that Chip is the alpha dog, they are best friends. Like someone else said, let them meet in a neutral area and they may start playing, but as soon as you get inside your house, be prepared. Good luck with the new baby and make sure we get pictures!!
