| Help needed!! New Puppy I do not know what to do 3 days ago I got a new baby..Well Bella my 1 year old yorkie just doesnt like her at all. Everytime she see's the baby she bites and growls at her, and the baby is terrified. The baby only ways 1.5 lbs so im afraid she will get hurt. I attempted to put them both together on the floor and that was a disaster. I have tryed putting one in a crate at a time so that they can sniff each other out..Im starting to wonder if they will ever like each other. I have other dogs and cats that like her. Any suggestions |

| Right now Bella just feels her space has been invaded. I just think now they need more time. I would keep them separated when you cant supervise them. I got mine when they were both pups so I did not experience what you are going through. However something we did was Chachi was 1st so he also got 1st. He gets his food 1st, treats 1st, When we come in we greet him 1st and he gets 1st attention. Mine dont fight at all.

It's a Yorkie Thing Donating Member | It's too late for this now...but for those who are about to add a new puppy or dog to the home. It's best to introduce them on neutral ground. Then there is no home ground to defend. Just go slow and they will get to know each other.

| We just got a new pup in October and it took a while for Roo to adjust. They were never really violent with each other Roo just wanted nothing to do with the new one. The same thing happened when we brought the new one over to meet our older dog who lives with my parents (because she's too big for our townhouse). Anyway it took Roo and Pumpkin about a month and Taya and Pumpkin still have growling matches but they all sleep together, play together, go outside together and lick each other etc so it just takes time and a LOT of patience. I didn't think my pups were ever going to get along and they love each other now! |

| Give it more time. Post pics when they are happily snuggled up together - you don't think so now, but it'll happen. Good luck.

| When I got our new little girl Dec. 21st, both Zada and Azrael were traumatized. They had diarrhea and vomiting. This went on for two weeks before things settled. They now play with her, lay in "their" beds with her and are all good buds! It can take a week or two or even longer, but they soon learn to love each other eventually. Just don't let them be together right now without some gate or something between them. Don't worry. |

| That was one of the best pieces of advice that I got. So when we brought Blaze home we introduced him and Autumn at my moms and it went very well. Their breeder had brought a 5 month old puppy over for me to look at before this and Autumn was very dominating of the pup. I was nervous about getting Blaze but it turned out great - they really love each other!

| I would say just give it time because it takes different ones different amounts of time to adjust

| The new baby is 11 weeks old..She's teeny tiny. But oh my what a hand full.very rambunctious..Sleep for me in the past few days is the same as bringing home a new born baby. 2am seems to be the time she wants to play.. I haven't came up with a good name for her, right now were calling her baby. Any suggestions?
