Yorkie and Silky My daughter adopeted a silky fro the same rescue where I got Preston, she actually adopted Keebler 3 weeks before I adopted Preston. Keebler is 3 1/2 weeks older than Preston. That would make Keebler almost 7 months as Preston will be six months tomorrow. I thought I would post some pics for you to see. Keep in mind, Preston has been groomed and Keebler has not made it to the groomer yet and Preston is 9 lbs at six months (but I sure do love my big teapot.) By the way, Preston is on the right of your screen.

Silkies are supposed to be bigger. Preston is a bit bigger than he should be though. They do look quite similar, but when you see them together and running around playing you notice definate differences in the way their bodies are shaped. The biggest thing I have noticed is that Yorkies seem to be more "rounded" all over than silkies. It is hard to explain, but if you see them (especially from behind) standing next to each other, Preston looks kind of like a bear (for want of a better description) and Keebler looks more like you expect a dog to be shaped. I will have to try and get a pic of the two of them beside each other with their behinds facing me, then you will see what I am not very good at describing. HA HA Here is another shot of them, you might kind of be able to see what I am talking about. Keebler's hair is a bit wild so it is harder to tell, but Preston's head is more rounded.

I have a 6 year old Silky, and a 7 mo. old Yorkie. My Silky was sapose to be the runt, but she's 13 pounds. Very calm and goood natured dog, the Yorki rules the roost at 6 pounds.

Snowflake, Do you get the same impression that the Yorkie has a more "rounded" body than a Silky. That seems to be the biggest difference I see in Keebler and Preston. So far Keebler seems to be the more dominate of the two. Of course Keebler has only visited three times since we have had them, and the first time was just after we brought Preston home and he was pretty skittish.
