OMG that is so scary i know it happened to my with my minpin last summer but with me i ran to her before the bird got it's dive in on her that was so scary that i hvae been afraid to let her walk outside without a harness and a leash now! And only with me! |
Wow...glad all turned out ok. I would and will (if ever needed to, do the same as you!) We have lots of haws around here. We have a big one that hangs out in the park by the beach where we walk all the time. I am forever on the look out for that guy. Moose is 13 lbs, and my hubby says the hawk could and would still pick him up if he wanted to. |
Awww, Peanut is absolutely adorable. I am so glad that you were there to protect those babies. ~Marly |
I have done some research because of the hawk we have hanging around, what i read is that all they have to do is try to pick one up and the talons would kill the dog. My father is a hunter and he has seen them with rabbits. |
That God you were faster than that hawk. We have RedTail Hawks here and I have to keep a close eye to the skies whenever I have the babies out. I have been trying to think of ways to keep them safer outside in this small fenced area we have. I wish I knew where they made really big nets that I could somehow hang up over their area. I would feel so much safer. |
my mom lives in longview tx & she has a tiny shi tzu named isabelle, there was one (chicken hawk) that kept circling when she would take her out & she made my dad go get her sum supped up high-powered bb gun LOL I think she even had him put some kind of scope on it! :) her motto is whatever it takes!! |
I'm glad Peanut is all right!! I'm tickled pink that you smacked that hawk! There are hawks all over where I live, along with coyotes and bobcats. I had my backyard fenced in, and constantly watch the sky when I'm out with my babies. They're NEVER outside without me or my son. I'm with you - I'll shoot first and ask questions later (after I get rid of the evidence:) ) |
