| ![]() We just got our Yorkie last week, she is 13 wks. My question to anyone who can help is about how old are they when they settle down a bit. And will she ever get use to her crate, she crys off and on thru out the night. I got her for my four year old daughter and she just wants to pet her and the puppy will tr to bite her hand and she pulls on her pants legs, will this ever stop. We tell her No Bite, No Bark...the only thing I am pleased with is she is great about going potty on her puppy pads and outside. Thanks! Sue Sue |

| ![]() Thats great that she is doing well with potty training. She will settle down in time but probably not as a puppy. Puppies are rambuncious. When she bites put a toy or a chewy in her mouth and tell her no bite. Puppies also bite alot because they are teething and that gets better in time. Good luck

| ![]() She is only 13 weeks. Its her way of getting someone to play w/her. Continue to tell her No Bite and try to redirect her when she does it. Good luck and welcome to YT!

| ![]() Will it ever stop? Yes, possibly around 1yr old. You have a 13wk old infant on your hands a tiny tiny baby. Your puppy will continue to bite your hand and feet until the baby teeth are gone and replaced by her adult teeth. Around 5-6 months. This tiny puppy knows nothing about how to act. It takes lots of time and patience. Yorkies are smart and clever. They need lots of human contact. I don't think this puppy is what your 4 yrs old should be playing with. It's too small to be picked up. If dropped it could break a leg or even it's back. Please be careful and monitor the pup like you would a human child. It's the same and should be treated like the baby it is. Crying when alone is very common. It's away for the first time from it's mother and siblings. It's alone. Yes it's lot's of work. They are so adorable when they are puppies but people don't understand they now have another baby to care for. Because that is exactally what you have. Another baby. Your pup needs lot's of safe toys to chew on to get those puppy teeth out. Their gums are sore and that's why they chew on whatever they can get their mouth around. Please have patience, lot's of patience and monitor your puppy when your daughter is around her. I know you would not let your 4yrs old pick up a new baby but it's the same. Good luck with you new puppy and please have patience. |

| ![]() I would keep the crate next to your bed. If the puppy whimpers or barks, put your hand down near or in the crate. Cooper whimpers a couple of times during the night and he is 16 weeks. The minute he smells my hand, he quiets down and goes to sleep. At 13 weeks when he cried I brought him to his pad because he usually needed to go potty. Good luck with your puppy! They are SO much fun! ![]() |
