Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Check to see if she has anything stuck there. Also sometimes when they are groomed if the groomer buzzes the hair too close to the skin it can irritate them. If it's neither of those she might have a full anal sac or worms.

| Sounds like what my first Yorkie, Brutus, did when his anal glands got full. I'd take him to vet and they'd express them for $12. I just never wanted to learn how, too yuk. Usually they don't clog (carrots are supposed to help), but if they clog too long, they can get infected. |

| Ahhh. yes... lots of dogs do this... Roxy did it once... and that was it... Like a lot of ppl said, it can have to do with the anal sac. It might need a good squeezin... lol Or it could be worms... Those are no good! Watch the poopy! lol Or it could be your doggies hairs are too long on the bum and theyre causing it to get itchy... Or, your doggy might have ingested some hair!... SO BAD! If you ever see hair hanging from your doggies bum bum... NEVER pull it out!!! You could hurt their insides or rip something or cut something with the hair!!! Just get some clippers and snip it off... Or maybe, this is what Roxy had, there is some dirty dried up poo on the bum bum... and this is making it itch... if something is on the little bum, it might cause the baby's bum to get itchy... Either way, something is making the bummy itch! lol So try cleaning it with a cloth... watching the poo, and if all else fails, see your vet.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Joey used to do this and we started calling him Scoochy. The vet showed me how to express the glands and it's not as gross as it sounds, but I would have the vet show you how to do it because if done incorrectly you could cause an infection. Many groomers do this as a normal part of grooming.

| Ahhh! Cooper does this and I didn't really think anything of it. My childhood yorkie did it and my JRT does it from time to time. What does the poop look like if it is worms? |

| Simply, it has worms in it... You cant miss em. They are little worms wiggling in the poop!!! They are terrible... you can also feel their belly... If their belly feels full and is hard... then thats a good sign of worms, but you wont be sure until either you find one in the poop, coming out of their bum, or sometimes... choking on them...

| express her anal glands. Your vet can do it, but it is a very easy thing to do. I'd suggest having your vet do it once and show you how to do it yourself correctly. I do my guys every other week.

| Wow! I really hope I don't have to deal with that anytime soon. I give my Jack Russell HeartGuard. I am assuming that this is something Yorkies can take as well. If so, I will get some from my vet during our next visit. |
