Oh nooooo lol. It took me almost 2 weeks I think to come up with Stedman's name  I don't know, I can't remember now if it was a week or two weeks before I finally decided on his name - point is, it was long enough! We were calling him "little man" and, "the puppy" for the longest time LOL. It didn't take as long with Tatum though. There was only so many girl names I liked, and 99% of them were sooo common and used up, and you heard every other dog being called by that name - I did NOT want that. I say wait until you have her home with you....then as you see how she acts, and what her personality is like, just start saying, "come here "so and so" - and see if it fits her - that's what I always did :p |
I named my baby girl "Maya". I thought of it on the way home from the breeder's house. Shortly after I got Maya, my friend got a girl yorkie and named her "Mia". Mia is very tiny.....3 lbs. I named my female cat "Zoe". Good luck in choosing a name! |

We named Cooper before meeting him. I saw several pictures and wanted to go with a K or C name. I really like Kobe, but I kept thinking of Kobe Bryant (NOT a Lakers fan). My husband randomly suggested Cooper and I loved the name immediately. Cooper's name definitely fits him. |
We named Ziggy before we brought him home..it's the only name my husband would agree to. He rejected thousands it seems before we could compromise. :p For our new boy that we can hardly wait to get next month, we wanted a name that would sound good with Ziggy...so we agreed on Beau Blue. Are you wanting the name of your new baby girl to start with a certain letter or theme? We all love to help think up names. I love the old fashioned name, Leonie(Lee O Nee) Also, Charlsie, Savannah, Willa, Lyda Rose, Lacey...to name just a few. :aimeeyork |
I knew i wanted to name my grl martini because i always loved that name for a yorkie..and sure enough she is a martini...even tho perfect example last nite i made martini's and i tell my boyfriend u want a martini and she kept looking all confused lol it was the cutest thing i didnt even realize so next time i will just say what type of martini it is instead of confusing my lil munchkin |
we named bentley before he came home to us and his breeder called him bentley too as soon as we told her :) miss buffy was not named until about 5 days after we got her...we were really struggling on whether to keep the name tracey had for her (melody) and nothing else sounded right until my mom suggested buffey :D it is just perfect for her  |
Yep I'll be bringing one of Yougethesmiles's puppies "Chippy" home in a few weeks....and I've named him Marco Polo. :D |

That's what I did for Izzy...I had this list of names since at first I only saw her via video and pictures from the breeder. Then once I went down to Columbus to see her I started calling her all the names on my list and she ignored every one but when I called her Izzy she turned to look at me...that was it!! It fits her personality too...she's cute and funny.:D |
yup! I had them both named before they came home...matter of fact the breeder would call them by name! so they knew their name before they came to their forever home! |
We picked out a boy name and a girl name before we brought Tia home. The girl name was going to be Diva (because I thought my Yorkie was going to be "all that" and princess-like), but when we saw her sweet little face, we thought that name was kinda harsh for our little girl. After about 2-3 days we narrowed it down and decided on Tia Maria (aka Tia, Titi, Titinu, Tiarolla) As for a boy name, when we get our boy his name will definetly be Jimmy the Tulip (aka Jimmy, Yimmy) (ya know...from "The Whole Nine Yards") |
our grand daughter had begged for a yorkie for six months. she had the name picked out and everything before we even agreed to let her have a pet. now that we have sassy we would not give her up for a millon dollars. she has become a great part of our family. |
I picked Pixie's name days after I had found her online and the breeder had sent me some pictures...I was soooo excited to have found her and couldn't sleep one night, it was about 5am and i was lying there thinking of names for her to pass the time away, when all of a sudden the name Pixie just popped into my head! suits her so well...she's tiny and pretty and my hubby and I love anything cornish, I love cornish Pixie's, we met down in cornwall (UK) married down there, and our son was born down there, so the name just seemed so right! I woke my hubby really excited to tell him i had found the perfect name for my new baby...he wasn't too impressed at that time in the morning! |
Chip was a rescue, and his rescue name was Charlie. I made a list of names that started with a "Ch", so it wouldn't be a hard transition name wise. So when he finally arrived we picked a name that fit him, and he immediately responded to it. |
My little Man I saw a picture of my boy way before I got him, and I studied on his face and thought of the name William. I had an uncle Willie (William) and my great great grandfather's name was William. As soon as I thought William would fit, I just got this flash that said Sweet William and I knew that was it! And he lives up to his name...he is the sweetest boy. I love him with no reserve! :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa His footprints are all over my heart! ~Melody |
No we waited untill we had them home. My Husband and I named one and My 7 yr old Daughter named the other |
