We named sadie before she came home but we went through a time where we wern't sure... After picking a few names we settled on Sadie for good... :D |
I have my little girls name picked out and I dont even know if she exists yet. I named her after a charactor in my daughters favourit movie, The Cobbler and the Thief (or is it The Thief and the Cobbler). Princess Yum Yum (Yum Yum for every day use) should be coming home soon....I hope! |
As soon as I read The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, I just knew I wanted a Walter! |
I had Gracie's name picked out, but Holly was a challenge. I wanted something that would go with her Registered Name, Calaryn's Made of Honor. Given that I got her at Christmas time, I thought Holly might work. I put it out there along with a list of other names I liked and asked my friends here at YT for their opinions. Holly it was! If you are going to register your baby, and baby does not come with a Registered Name, I would suggest picking several Registered Names and find a call name that works with any of them. It is much harder to pick the call name and then come up with a Registered name that fits. Good luck and I can hardly wait to meet your baby! |
I already would love to have another one! it's true yorkies are as sweet & addictive as hershey's kisses :) if I do her name will be hannah grace but my hubbie just smiles & shakes his head Nooo Honey Noooo!! LOL! |
After I heard Rod Stewart sing Maggie May in 1971, I loved the name! My husband didn't like it, so I couldn't name any of my 3 daughters that. But, once I got my first yorkie, (in 2002) I knew immediately what her name would be. The song fits her personality so well. |
Well Tucker's name actually has a story behind it. For the record: we met him for the first time when he was 6 weeks old. We got our first yorkie Bandit from a pet store (:(), and he got a clean bill of health from our vet. He started having seizures, and we took him to an Emergency Vet. The vets name was Dr. Tucker. He did everything in his power to save Bandit - unfortunatly it didn't work, but he did what he could and he made Bandit's last few hours as comfortable as possible. We were struggling to think of a name when we picked out our new puppy, my mom wanted to name him Brady, and the family had pretty much agreed on Noah. My mom and I were discussing it when my dad walked in the door from getting Bandit's ashes. He said "Dr. Tucker sends his condolances." and when he said 'Dr. Tucker' my mom and I just looked at each other and we were like "that's it!" We told Tucker's breeder, and she started calling him that, so when we brought him home he already knew his name. :) |
I had my Jeter's name picked out for about ten years before we got him. I am a big Yankee's fan and I just love to watch Derek Jeter in action, boy can he play ball!! I thought Jeter sounded like a great name for my puppy even though I knew I was going to have to wait a while to get him. I am going to name all our Yorkies after a Yankee player, we will eventually get 2 or 3 more dogs. I have their names picked out too;) |
I had my last girl named so her microchip could have her name..and papers of course... pooh's mum |
I picked my boys' names before I brought them home, so that the breeder could start calling them by their names. |
I named my baby girl "Maya". I thought of it on the way home from the breeder's house. Shortly after I got Maya, my friend got a girl yorkie and named her "Mia". Mia is only about 3 lbs......very tiny. Good luck in choosing a name. |
We meet our puppy at 5 weeks old...as some of you know. I think it took us a whole week or more to pick Leo's name, but with 4 kids it is hard to get everyone to agree.:D But, half the fun of having a new puppy is finding the perfect name. My children where on line looking up names and making list. They were so excited! It was important to us, to have a name for our puppy ASAP. We wanted Debbie (our breeder) to start calling him by 'his' name. |
