There is no way I would buy from a breeder that lets their puppies go that young. No reputable breeder would do that...

The Fear Imprint stage occurs between 8-11 weeks. Shipping a puppy or taking him away from his littermates and mom during this period can be very traumatic and have a lasting effect on his personality.

The Yorkshire Terrier Club rules require breeders not to sell a puppy under twelve weeks old. Tell your friend if she is dealing with a breeder who breaks this rule, she is not dealing with a reputable breeder.

I so agree! I am shocked a breeder would sell this young and I wonder how many of the pups make it

the youngest I had mine was 6 weeks, but, it was smooth going from day one(she was 1 or 2 days shy of 7 weeks)..Infact, I started working with her pee pad training right away, and 2 weeks later when I hauled her all the way to Illinois with me, she was already running to the pee pad..of course, she was a good eater, and I had already had a maltese with hypoglycemia, so knew what to look for

Educate yourself and buy from reputable breeders or rescue.
