| Will the biting and chewing ever stop? I hope someone knows the answer or has some idea of what I am talking about. Otis will be 7 months old this month and every time I reach my hand down, (or anyone for that matter) reaches down to pet him or touch him he bites and chews on your hands and fingers. I have tried to teach him "NO", that hurts! He will stop only for a minute then goes right back to it. He is not doing it being mean he just constantly wants to play and chew on your hands. He has already lost his baby teeth so I know that he is probably not teething, I think he has got all his adult teeth by now. I just wondered if anyone else has had this problem or is having this problem and what did you do about it to make it stop.

| Bella was awful with this, she is 7months now and it has been quite some time since I remember her doing it. And she was really really constant, I tried to always replace my hand with something that she could chew one. She isn't one to chew on toys much though so that didn't really work out to well. I then moved on to yelping and ignoring her and that is what seemed to do the trick. I'm lucky with our little sweetie Coco and she doesn't play bite our hands at all .... every day I'm thankful for that lol

My Little Man! Donating Member | It is defenately a play thing. Maxi does the same. My boyfriend likes to make him all crazy running around and wrestling with him and I dont. So when Maxi was trying to do that to me I would say no and cry and make my hand limb he would understand he hurt me and give kisses. Now I play with him too with a little wrestling but he knows to be gentle with me otherwise I would do that trick again and he really doesnt want to hurt mommy When he is about to get wild I say Maxi please play nice and usually it works If you want to stop this behavior you have to defenately say ayyy that hurts and sort of cry and make your hand limb and then ignore the pup for a minute or so. Usually they get the point Good luck!

| Chip used to be very mouthy when I would play with him. Luckily he is docile enough that I could gently hold his muzzle shut long enough to say "no mouthy!". He got the point and would stop.
