| Opinions Please MrYorkiecrazy and I would like your opinions on what to do about Katie's coat, if anything, since her LP surgery. As you can see in the pictures, this is what she looks like. Do we leave it like it is and let it grow back out or do we cut the coat to match the surgery leg? I have to say, I do like her long coat, so I'm confused. Any opinions would be of great help. Thanks, ladies.

| Poor baby..If you like her coat like it is, leave it, the hair on her leg will grow back. I've never cut Haleys hair, she's going to be 5 this month..When she had a tumor a few mos. back, they had to shave the hair on the back of her neck...it's coming in very slow, but, in time it will get back to normal..just wish their hair grew as fast as ours does |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Oh Jamie - I know that had to break your heart to see her leg all bare....I'm just glad she's ok and on the mend !!! her hair looks like it grows pretty fast based on how long I've known you - why not just let it grow in and keep her in coat ? OR - if you really don't like the way it looks - you could put pants on her She's always in your arms anyway so I would think no one would even notice it (unless she was walking around) |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | omg look at that coat!!! i can only imagine what the surgery techs were thinking as they were cutting it. LOL If it were my dog i would have cut her coat down before surgery so that she would match with it all growing in and it wouldn't be a big pain in the butt. However i have never had a full coat on morgan because her hair is horrible. I don't know if i'd be able to shave all that beautiful hair off of Katie. It doesn't look that bad at all. I'd just leave it and let it grow in

| AWWW what a little sweet heart...I wonder if cutting her down might put more stress on her..she's used to the long hair, I'd say leave it alone..She's a beauty with or without hair I'm sure!! Hair grows, eventually!! |

| I was in the same situation with Roxy, I don't have pictures though. She had LP surgery done on both back legs at the same time, so she had the same shave down. Of course they shaved one side further into her side area than the other side so we had to deal with that being uneven too. Then after 6 weeks of regrowth, poor Roxy had to have another LP surgery, I thought they were going to shave the whole behind area again, but they only shaved the one side, so now she was really funny looking. It takes A LONG TIME for it to catch up. So, I did wind up trimming her front long hair, then I trimmed a little more and so on and so on. Roxy has a lot of hair and thick, so her behind area was coming in thicker and wavy/curly. At about 6 or 8 months after her 1st surgery, I just decided to make it all look even and blend |

| Thank you!!! I will let her hair grow and catch up. Or like V said, buy her a pair of pants. LOL So sorry about Roxy!! Both knees at once?? That must have been hard on both of you. Why did poor little Roxy have to have a second LP surgery??? Katie had two done on this knee too. The second was a revision surgery. Thanks to all of you for saying Katie is a beauty. It really means alot. kalina82 I was wondering the same thing about the surgery techs. LOL

| You like the long coat and she sure has a pretty one. Just leave it and let it come back natural. It will grow on you and just has to have time.
