Oh No! Look what I did, was it a mistake? 4 Attachment(s) I took Diddy Bear to the groomers today to get his hair cut. He is almost 11 months old and is full of energy! He does not like to be brushed at all so I thought I would get a puppy cut. He looks like a totally different dog. I am wondering if I made a mistake getting him cut this way. They had trouble getting his ears so they look choppy. They didn't want to stress him out too much since this was his first full cut. My fiance says he looks like a deer now. I know the hair will grow back so it isn't the end of the world, I just can't believe how different he looks. Here are some pics. #1 & 2 - before his cut.:animal36 #3 - This is how he feels about being brushed (LOL):D :D :D #4 - This is Diddy now after his cut:eek: |
Diddy looks handsome! I love his new cut.:) |
He looks so cute!!! |
LOL, I was cracking up laughing when I saw the 3rd picture!! But he does look very cute with his new cut! |
I think he looks absolutely darling with the shorter cut. I like his ears too....and I'm sure it'll be a lot more manageable.:) |
LOL that 3rd picture is a riot :D and i think he looks very handsome with his new haircut ;) |
too handsome:D |
It's cute... don't worry about it... hair grows back... I brought my Penny in for a haircut one time and she came out looking like a fox.... opossum. So you're baby isn't half as bad as mine was. |
I am cracking up at the 3rd picture! I don't think you made a mistake at all! I think he looks absolutely adorable and I bet he's much happier!:) |
Oh No? Look what I did 3rd pic is funny, does he bite you? If not, I would brush him everyday and hopefully he will get use to it. |

He looks cute!!! I know how you feel though, they look so different after the puppy clip. Where did my Furbaby go??? |
I think its a cute cut |
I'm sure diddy will be happy with less grooming going on lol. That one picture cracks me up, I can only imagine how difficult he probably was for the groomer, considering that I think they did great. :) I don't know if this is known information but I was told by a groomer to never brush your puppies/dogs while in your lap. It helps if you always set them on a table/counter or somewhere high where they are standing in front of you when ever you are doing any type of grooming. That way they get used to it being that way and the groomers aren't introducing a whole new experience when they come in. It is easier on the pups if they are used to it. I have never brought my girls to a groomer but I always do their grooming on the counter or on bath day on the grooming table and they are awful if I try to groom them anywhere else. Also lots of treats for a job well done.. or even for a somewhat ok job lol |
He does look very different, but still very cute!! I have that same brush and my yorkie doesn't like it either. But when I use the flea comb to brush him, he doesn't seem to mind. I try to brush him while he is playing with a toy or treat. Be very gentle and give him lots of praise afterwards. It's worth a try if you like your baby with longer hair. Good Luck!! |
I think he is just adorable in his new short cut. I keep Conner in short hair because he hates to be brushed. He is more comfortable in the shorter hair. |
I think he looks sweet. |
OH I LOVE IT, he looks better IMO. Did is so cute! |
HE'S Cute....he doesn't look like a deer, DADDY!!! ;) |

I think he looks very nice and comfortable. He really doesn't like that brush though does he...LOL |
Awww I think his new cut looks cute, That 3rd pic is funny, they try to be so mean when getting their hair brushed, LOL |
I know how you feel, I hate the way Lyric looks right after a cut but in a week or 2 when it starts growing out, it always looks sooooo cute. Don't worry, it'll grow back ;) |
Next time I would tell them to leave his face a litle longer and rounder  He is still a cutie though, and his hair will grow back soon :p |
cute! I think he's cute. I get tired of Skippy's longer hair sometimes and once in a while- I have the groomer do a short puppy cut- I think it's cute too. And yea, it grows back faster than you can believe-good for the groomers!!:yelrotflm The dogs I think like it- thay don't have to get brushed so much. |
lol are you kidding. He looks adorable. Love the cut. |
He looks totally adorable :) I went through the exact same thing (but maybe worse?) after Jaya's first cut. I cried for days (really i did....), and my heart would break every time i saw her. (The lady took off SO much hair..... my cousins said she looked like a rat...i was SO upset). My hubby would get SO mad at me, and one time, i caught him holding her infront of the mirror whispering in her ear "ignore that lady in there, u are sooo beautiful, just look at you. we love you even more now, k". And i think he did this every night before he'd tuck her in for the night. After that first experience, I have decided against getting her hair cut again, even though it is WAY easier on you and the pup with the short hair. The most i'll get done is her back trimmed but ive decided officially to keep the hair on her head long. The lady that i took her to, shaved the hair on the bridge of Jaya's nose, and now its growing back in all spiky and poking her in the eye:mad: my poor baby. Jaya is a cotton coat, and i remember how difficult it was to manage before her cut, so we'll see how long my "decision" stands haha (Jenna is a silk coat........and wow what a difference in manageability!! its great, she is definitely going to be a long coat). |
Thanks for your kind replies everyone. I guess I just have to get use to it. I have been staring at him all day because he looks so different. |
