| ![]() Hello all, How is it possible for my little girl to lift her right foot when peeing? I have never heard of a girl dog of any breed to do that! My Duchess was born in April 2007 Is this normal. Does anyone have a girl that does that? One more thing, she never had her first period either! Please advise. Thanks |

| ![]() Welcome to YT. My Tinkerbell lifts one of her legs everytime she pee's. I think that it is to keep her hair out of it. Maybe? She also did not go into heat until she was over a year old so I would not worry about that yet. Sometimes it take longer for our little girls. Welcome again.

| ![]() I have a couple of girls that hike their leg to pee. It is not that unusual. As far is the first heat....most females come in between 8 months and 12 months. |

| ![]() LOL My little Izzy-Belle does the same thing. I think its cute. She hasn't gone into heat yet, but its because she is still too young.

| ![]() My shih tzu lifts her back right leg when peeing...If you're not going to use your yorkie for breeding, please have her spayed before she comes in to heat..Your chances of certain cancers are higher if you don't have them spayed before the first time |

| ![]() Destiny lifts her leg when she pees. It is the cutest thing!! She doesn't lift it very high but it is so cute that she thinks she has to lift it a little bit. She can be such a silly girl and I love her for it!!

| ![]() All my girls lift their leg when they pee. Feather was also born April 15th, 2007. She is in heat now but I really didn't think it would be this soon as she has been late getting her teeth etc. Her second teeth are just now coming in but she hasn't lost any baby teeth. i also thought it was because she's so little (2 1/2lb) Some don't go into heat til even later. |

My Bichon girl lifts her right hind leg to pee and always has. I think she's just being neat and staying clean. | |

| ![]() Lady lifts her right leg slightly when she pees. I think she does it so she won't pee on her foot. ![]() Yes, please get your girl spayed before her first heat. You can basically eliminate her chance of getting mammary cancer later on. The risk of malignant mammary tumors in dogs spayed prior to their first heat is 0.05%. It is 8% for dog spayed after one heat, and 26% in dogs spayed after their second heat. http://www.peteducation.com/article....&articleid=460 |
