Sorry...off topic, I know. But I couldn't resist. Silliness is a clear indication that it is time to go to bed. |
I also got a really nice (NOT) pm from him as well. He threaten a "law suit" if I cross the "line". It really makes me want to run out and get one of his puppies (NOT). I am sure I can guess who tipped him off of this conversation. I am one who would love for him to discuss his breeding practice so that we can all understand. In all my years, I have NEVER seen where it is accepted to breed such small little mommies. So I will sit back and wait for this wonderful explanation so that we can all understand. |
Well, that pm to myfairlacy, was just uncalled for period! And I'm sorry sir, but, the lady I got mine from had been breeding for 15 years, and my 4 lb yorkie(the parents were small) is now 14 lbs. and NOT from over feeding..there are throwbacks, and I have one, and I love all 14 lbs. of her...I would still NEVER, EVER buy a yorkie from someone that breeds that small of yorkies..Your pm to myfairlacy showed me just what kind of person you are..seems funny to me also, how you don't have the prices down... |

all i can say is WOW!!! talk about unflattering PR!! |
I got one too, just stating that for my information there are 7 employees that work there. That was my only comment, so I think he's pretty upset. I'm happy to know there are more people taking care of the puppies...whatever. |

Wow, the kennel's response is truly unbelievable! I was keeping an open mind and waiting for his response and he sure helped me make up my mind! I wonder if he realizes that he just turned off over 25,000 yorkie owners many of whom belong to other dog forums and will always remember that their reaction to simple and common questions is extremely angry and defensive. If this is how they represent themselves on a public forum, how are they behind closed doors or (gasp) after they have your money? |

proves to me even more that it is a business. I see the breeder hasn't said anything else... |
Imo Okay, these threads I usually read through and silently agree or disagree. I saw this first when the thread just opened, looked up the Velvet Touch website, and after reading all that's been posted here decided to put my 2cents in.......just my own opinion, mind you..... 1 - "Teacups" - :thumbdown no such thing, dislike the term, immediately a turn-off...wouldn't buy from them for just that reason 2 - Breeding females that tiny -:thumbdown ; wouldn't do it, scary to do it, just plain wrong to do it....so, uh, no thanks. 3 - the video of the place....:thumbdown outdoor kennels (and lots of them), many dogs running, jumping....not because they were happy IMO, but more likely starving for some quality playtime and attention. Well socialized puppies (and adults for that matter)...I think probably not. And on that note, did I just read there are just 7 employees that work there...to tend to how many dogs and puppies????!!!! Or am I misunderstanding that comment. In any case, just from the points I made above, if I was looking for a yorkie or poodle pup, I myself would not consider buying from that kennel no matter how clean it looks or how adorable the pictures are. The above points to me are 3 red flags, so 1, 2, 3 strikes you're out! They may be fine for some people, but not for me. Oh, and the comments from the owner that I've read about......just put the icing on an already bad tasting cake (IMO) |
You know, I just re read the post to myfairlacy....What an idiot this man is, her 7 lb dog being big....LOL I should send him pics of my Haley....LOL but, I bet she's 10 times cuter than his dogs..I think she is anyway.....Oh well, maybe they won't come back on here(oh, we can only hope)..And myfairlacy, you need to put that baby of yours on a diet:D |

I am curious as to what the Member who posted that they didn't have a problem with them has to say about it now? |
Wow is all I can say. Just talk about showing your A$$. The breeder/kennel is something else. I just wanted to say my Lulu was a whopping 3 lbs and and ounce or two above. I would never never ever think to breed her. I had many offers but no way in hell would I do it. No matter what amount of money was offered. They are so small I can't see her sustaining a pregnancy and then safely whelping. "Dog of the Future"...that is one hell of a lable for a dog to carry. Seems rather detached and sterile to me. Just made me think of some sort of money making venture. Good luck to that kennel/breeder and the people that decide to buy from him. I know personally I wouldn't buy a pup from them. They have way too many dogs for my taste and while I can see a tiny from a litter I wouldn't knowingly buy from someone breeding down to make the tinies. |
I just looked at the sires and dams and a wave of frustration washed over me. They dogs look plump because of their full coat. I know from seeing Lulu who I kept in a shorter coat that they are really bony and tiny when they are cut down. It really stressed me to think about how tiny these females are under all the hair and having them being pregnant and trying to deliver a litter. |
