I just finished baths....THIS is the diff in cottony vs silk -

Cheri (silky) 15 minutes - Shampoo - condition - rinse - brush and blow dry

Chanel (cottony) 30 minutes PLUS - Shampoo 2 times - then VERY good conditioning - rinse and rinse more - brush, blow dry, spray on Sea Breeze, and brush again

LOL Thats the way my two are. Mickeys is done in a matter of minutes, I towel dry him and hes almost dry before I get the dryer out His eye color is always green. Hes silky
Minnie takes longer to dry and her eye color flashes gold, pink, red. I think shes both silky/cotton coat.
But both of them have never really had problems with tangles. Minnies hair is a lot softer.

I couldn't tell ya, I should try and dig up one of the pics of copper when he was about 4 1/2 months he has one bright green eye and one red eye. He is dark and mostly cottony coat now, but his back end is silkier and he really doesn't mat at all. Sometimes they are a little of both.
