http://www.prweb.com/releases/2006/5/prweb379585.htm yorkies were bred with 3 different terriers, to come up with the yorkie breed- evey breed in the AKC has been mixed with other dogs to get what is wanted! |

However, "designer" dogs are not being bred to create a new breed. They are 1st generation crosses. There is NO purpose in these mixes except to create cute puppies that can be sold for money. Breeders give them cutesy names, say they are rare or a new breed, and sell them for a lot of money. No one is trying to create a new breed with these crosses...just creating mixes. So big difference in the breeds we have today and these designer dogs...one was bred for a purpose and the other was bred with no purpose (except money) |
I have parti colored yorkies that are white and black and tan. But as puppies they are black and white, then as they mature, the black on thier faces and undersides turns tan just like a traditional colored yorkie. My guess is, that is not a yorkie. Just because it comes with a piece of paper that says it is purebred does not mean it is. That piece of paper is only as good as the breeder that gives it to you. But she is cute, so as long as you're happy with her, that's all that matters. |
If the responsible elements of the dog community don’t recognize and embrace cross breeding, it leaves the market to those who only want to breed for money without any regarding for furthering and defining a breed. This is copy from the artical- I think people need to have an open mind- iF PEOPLE HAD THOUGHT THIS YEARS AGO- THERE WOULD BE NO YORKIE! YES, MIXED BREEDS CAN HAVE PROBLEMS- BUT IS IT USUALLY from the parnets that should not have been bred anyway? The problems were already there in the purebred? I think that is the way it was explained to me! MY CHORKIE, BANJO AND I SAY MERRY CHRISTMAS! |

http://pets-adoption-sale.vivastreet...-teacup-yorkie I'm guessing this is the ad for the white Yorkie cuz the OP told me it was on vivastreet.co.uk and this has the same photo and is the only ad for white Yorkie. Notice something in the wording of ad that might give away the fact that, (and we all know this anyway) the white Yorkie isn't a true Yorkie??? I spotted something... see if you can! :D |

that they are raised along side other household pets? |
I'm PMing you because I don't want to give it away to anyone else :p |

LOL I just PMd you about the wording of the ad as well. Most serious and professional breeders just do not talk or write that way. They would not say "so get back coz they are ready now..." I don't know. It just seemed very unprofessional to me. |
tHERE IS NO NEED TO BE RUDE-ARE WE TALKING DOGS HERE- OR CATTY aND THIS IS AMERICA-ARE WE NOT ENTITLED TO AN OPINON- MAYBE PAPERS AND DNA SHOULD BE REQUIRED BEFORE POSTING- REALLY- NOT JUST TO ME- BUT SOME OFYOU LADIES CAN JUST BE DOWN RIGHT RUDE- AND THERE IS NO SENSE IN IT- VERY CLICKIE- WHICH I HAD NO USE FOR IN jR HIGH-i DO NOT WANT TO BE PART OF A CLICK-I THINK ALL ARE CREATED EQUAL! SO MAYBE MUTTS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED ON THIS SITE! YOU ARE NOTHING BUT PLAIN RUDE |

As for clique... I don't correspond with anyone on this thread in regards private life issues and I couldn't even tell you the names of their dogs! Two of my good friends on this forum have Yorkie crosses... a Yorkiepoo and a Morkie... no one is biased of the crosses.... just the breeders who do it to solely make money! |

While I DO have a BIG issue with people lying and passing off mixed breeds as purebreds, I do not have a problem with mixed breeds themselves. I'm fairly certain my newest little addition, Izzy-Belle is a chi-something or other and I couldn't be more thrilled to have her or more proud to show her off. :D |

I've finally decided how to answer your question to... The white Yorkie is definately not a Yorkie as you already know... it could be a Yorkie cross or it could be nothing Yorkie at all... you may never find out because you have no idea how this dog will grow and develop. I personally wouldn't buy the white one knowing I was originally looking for a Yorkie and I could end up with a dog that is nothing like. You don't know the lines of the dog and it could turn into something that's twice the size of a Yorkie... you never know what can happen. I think that if the other pup is also £200 I'd say that it is a good price, (my Yorkie wasn't much more than that), and providing the pup is healthy then I would consider that one but I would be wary because I think a 6 year old could of wrote a better ad than the one that was posted. I would be asking alot of questions and be 100% sure before buying. As you're wanting two I would perhaps wait for another litter to pick two from and try to find a breeder who advertised them early who is willing to let you come visit them before they are old enough to leave their mother so you could pick two out. Only you can make the choice though and we can just give you advice on what we would do... but after all, it is only our opinion. |

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!! ITS THE HOLIDAYS SO LETS BE NICE!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D Have you had any luck with getting a Yorkie yet? If I were you, I would search through this site. Theres lots of reputable breeders. |
That would be her! But I wasn't not keeping her because I thought she was a mixed breed. I was seriously concerned about the cost of vet bills. I had no idea at the time whether or not she was sick, etc. Luckily so far she has checked out healthy and I have reworked our budget to allow for any emergencies for her too. :D |

I hope that the original poster feels like she has been helped because I really think that is what we were trying to do by replying to her thread.... Tammy |
