| Help..!! Do I Get Ty A Sister Or A Brother?? They're like Ruffles..??? Or whatever those potato chips are.........You can't have just 1 Yorkie...!!! To all those who have more then 1, my fiancé and I need your input.........Tyson is 18months and his biological mom and dad just had some babies and they will be ready in around V-Day. My fiancé and I started thinking about making Tyson a big brother or sister for about 6 months. Since the day he came home, he never spent a day alone and now I am back to work as a nurse full time, so needless to say my hours are all over the place and my fiancé just graduated college and started a new job about a month ago, a normal M-F 8-5 job. Tyson did really well, that was about a month ago, hen are lease was up the first of Dec and we started looking for a new home, so we started thinking about a sibling. For whatever reason out of the blue I called his breeder and his biological mom had just got pregnant, so of course we took it as a sign, and used it as an excuse that it was a must we get another one. We have been in are new place for about 2 weeks and he seems to have adjusted very well..........and we have made a definite decision to go ahead and get another one. We want a lot of input from others who have more then 1 Yorkie, we have heard and read soooooooo much about a girl do will be this way and another boy that way....We are making a final decision on feed back from you guys, so any and all input would be great..THANKS......HAPPY HOLIDAYS.. CHRISTINE, TJ and little TY GUY............. |

| Hi - I think it is a great idea to get your little one a playmate. I got Lillie her 1/2 sister and they absolutely love each other. Plus it gives her a playmate during the day when I am at work.

| I'd go with a girl, then you'd have one of each!

| I think it is more important to pick the right personality type rather than a certain gender. If your current baby is really active, you probably won't want a really passive brother or sister. Try to match activity levels. A good breeder will be able to help you find the perfect fit. Mine sure did!

| I think the potato chip you're talking about is lays If your little guy has been neutered, I think either a boy or girl will be fine..Everyone always says the boys and girls get along better, but, I only have one boy, and the girls are always picking on him..so, I think the choice needs to be yours as to whether a boy or girl would be right..maybe you should go in to the home and let the puppy pick you..just take the one that comes up to you and doesn't shy away...if you don't really care what you get, then letting them pick you is the best way to do it.. good luck.. |

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | I personally love having one of each - a boy and a girl To me, it is just perfect and I couldn't be happier with my two babies! I will probably ALWAYS have one boy and one girl Yorkie

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have 4 girls, 3 yorkies and 1 pom. They all get along really well, but Pixie is the alpha and Cali is very laid back so it works. My pom is almost 11 and sick so she just stays out of their way. Dixie is new but she seems moer outgoing like Pixie so we may have issues later. Iwould definatley look for the opposite personality.

| I have a boy yorkie and I really want a little girl now too. But, the problem is convincing my boyfriend that we should get another one. He doesn't want to go through housebreaking again. the puppy stages weren't easy with Bauer and now that he is well trained my boyfriend doesn't want to start over again. He aslo seems to think that Bauer wouldn't like having a sibling because once we took him to a pet hotel for a couple days and they said he loves people but is mean to other dogs. |

| Thank you all soooooooooo much for all the input, that's what I have always loved about this board, everybody........or at least the people that have always taken the time to help me with my questions have always been so helpful and caring. Tyson has no idea how lucky he is that his mom found you guys, you all have saved him a few uneeded trips to he vet ...and now I think you guys have helped him get a new baby sister.....Tyson is neutred and the new baby will also be fixed, Ty is a pretty laid back boy and gets along with EVERYBODY, no matter how many legs they have....The idea of dresses in the puppy closet makes me happy.......and Tyson to, he would be so thankful not to have to if I had someone else to play dress up with, but most important he will have a friend. We just moved into he city so I've been thinking about a stroller for him and I heard about a puppy registray for puupy baby showers......and after all the positive input from you guys I believe one is in order....I will keep you all posted on the day our new baby comes home and will put some pics up.........My mind is pretty much made up, BUT, we are going to take Tyson up there in a few weeks and meet all his brothers and sisters and see if their is anyone that just fits..!!!....Happy Holidays and I will keep up guys updated.....THANKS again CHRISTINE |
