A little over an hour ago.. my mom's friends Yorkie was STOLEN :( out of her CAR!!!!! :eek: (and it was about 5 minutes from my house!!:eek: :mad:) i dont know all the details or anything:confused:..but i just want to ask you all for prayers that they find the lil guy!!!! His name is Frankie!! :( i feel HORRIBLE for the lady and am PISSED that someone would actually do that!! (i know everyone is careful, and we are too.. but it definately goes to show you that you cant leave ur lil one unattended for a split second!) Tim(my bf) is soooo angry.. he and a couple others, went to go look for Frankie!! he said if he found that person..he would ** *** ******!! ..you get the point!! and to tell you the truth..so would i!!;) Some people are really evil!! i cant believe they would do that!! im sure Amber(the owner) is freaking out!!!!!!! we havent met..but my heart goes out to her!! and i hope that poor lil Frankie is ok and that he is found soon!!

..i am getting ready to go to an xmas party..so i will update when i get more info!! but i just wanted to ask for everyones thoughts and prayers!! thanks so much!!
P.S.-HUG ur BABIES!!:(

i hope that baby is found safe and sound and the people (person) get punished!!! that is so awful!! :( your moms friend must be heartbroken!! :(

I hope he is found! That's so sad! That is exactly why I would never leave Zoe in the car alone. People break into cars for alot less than a yorkie. :mad:

Praying for a safe return of that little yorkie. And if the thieves cross paths with anyone, I hope that no one does anything rash, but that justice is definitely served.

This is getting CRAZY!!!!!!!! What has happened to morals lately? I hope and pray her baby is returned. We are still looking for my friends baby here too.

wow..that is scary!! It makes me think twice now about leaving Nathan in the car even for a few minutes!! When i do have to do this I always try to park my care where i can see it !! ( like post office) or if I have to run into a non yorkie friendly car I will park as close to the front of the store as possible and where there is a lot of walking traffic.. I think someone would be more leary of breaking into a car that is constantly being passed!! But now???????? I think i will rearrange how I do things!! I pray that her baby is found quickly!!

what?! this is crazy!!! after i read your post, i went to talk to my fiance and warned him to be careful when he took chloe out for potty or whatever!!! i hope your friend found her frankie sooon!! please keep us posted!! also, ask the lady to join YT, so we could all support her and made her feel better!!

I can't say I'm surprised. I've heard a lot about Yorkies being stolen all over. :eek: :mad: When I tell people offline about all the Yorkie nappings and why I'm uber protective of Vickie, they think I'm nuts. I hope she finds her dog soon and he's ok. :(

That is one of my worst fears! I hardly ever leave Lacy in the car, but there are those times I have to such as when we are traveling and I have to use the bathroom. I have to leave her in the car for a couple minutes while I run in the convenient store to go to the restroom. Ugh...people just suck :thumbdown :thumbdown

I would think convenience store parking lots would be very risky. Lacy looks like she is a little one. Why don't you get a discreet dog carrier and smuggle her in with you? People can break into a car and swipe a small dog in the blink of an eye.

BTW, you Lacy is adorable! I wouldn't let her out of my sight.

I know..I hate doing it. Lacy is 7lbs so not super tiny but not that big either. She usually rides in her carseat and a lot of the time I'll be traveling with my two cats in their carriers in the backseat. I usually try to be in and out in the fastest amount of time possible...usually only a couple minutes. And I make sure my doors are locked.

How scary. I've noticed that stuff like this tends to happen a lot close to the holidays. Evil people will go and steal someone's pet to give it to someone else , or maybe even sell it for Christmas. Everyone just needs to be extra careful with their fur babies and try not to let them out of your site. It can happen in an instant. Poor Frankie I hope that he was microchipped and hopefully he'll be found and brought back to his family soon.

wow, I cannot believe how desperate people have become . . .:( I bet your mom's friend is devastated . . I hope Frankie gets found and can be reunited with his mommy . . I will pray it happens soon :(

unfortunately you're right it does happen alot around the holidays. In my efforts to try to find my friends baby I spoke with some officers in town. They told me that microchipping is great if they get scanned, if they were stolen they would not think twice about causing the baby pain and taking the chip out, and if they know what they are doing then a strong magnet run ontop of the chip can damage it. He told me the best so far is a tattoo. I will checking prices on that. But if a thief is determined they will find a way.

I pray they find Frankie...I would be going out of my mind if this were me which, I'm sure she is. As far as microchipping (and I know alot on here have their furbabies done), you would have to have someone that would bring the dog to a vet or shelter to have them scanned in order to find the owners (unless your vet does it automatically).

When I just had Sadie it was easy to bring her everywhere...I would just take her in with me but, now that I have Lillie too it makes it a little harder so.....if I don't have hubby with me to carry one of the girls they stay home...I hear to many horror stories of yorkies being stolen from cars.

Oh I hope they find baby Frankie my heart breaks when I see posts like this...it has to be so devastating to lose your baby like that.

I never leave Izzy in the car for any reason...for example yesterday while traveling out of state I had to stop and get gas....I had to go in and pay so Izzy went with me for those few seconds....I don't care what they say...I also keep one of her bags in the car just for those reasons where I can sneak her in for a few moments. But I know there are times when you say it won't hurt for a few moments to leave them in a car...but that's all it takes for someone to take them. Not worth the risk after reading this about poor Frankie.

I hate reading about the stolen babies!:mad:

The only time I leave Milo in the car is when I go to our little PO in town---and only if I am just grabbing the mail, no counter business.

Always locked, always in front of a window.

That's what I do--smuggle Milo in. I don't do it for any other reason-- but his safety.

Just last night we were traveling from NH Coast back to NY and my son wanted to see us (he's having a bit of trouble personally), so we stopped at his work to chat and give him hugs.

He works in a Shaws grocery store in CT. It was 6PM and there was no way we were going to leave Milo alone. We snuck him in in his bag. The only time he moved was when he heard my son's voice---my son, btw, was so happy to see his little fur brother and knowing he was brought in James Bond style made him smile.

I felt so naughty. I don't regret the smile on my skin son's face though.
