| I am SO Mad at the GROOMER-Sammy hey everyone. I posted recently about Sammy's nails and followed your advice. I went to a HIGHLY recommended groomer, asked them to clip nails, and told them I was especially concerned about his curved nail in the back. I figured I might as well take advantage that I was there and asked them to cut a little of his hair around his eyes and ears. Asked for a nail cut. The lady says "You want me to shave his face?" I said NO,not shave just a little bit around his eyes, so it's easier to clean his eyes" , So then that take him .. WHich is another question. Anyway, they take him in the back and then come out and ask if I want to cut around his bottom, OK, and shave under the pads of his paws, OK. Sammy comes back out and they SHAVED his face in between his eyes, the bridge of his nose. He looks horrible. The shaved his butt and it does not look cute. they left hair everywhere, and they didn't cut the hair araound his ears (The reason I want this is because his ears don't stand up, which doesn't bother me, and it looks sloppy with all that hair there.) Now for the nails, they didn't cut the curved nail, which was the entire purpose of me going there, and his other nails were so short. I noticed they made him bleed, he had that yellowy powder on two of his nails. I'm not happy at all. It took me like an hour but I managed to file that nail down. My next question for you guys, Can you see your groomers as they are working? This place I went to, they take the dog from you and take them to a back room, whose glass is covered with paper and you can't see or hear what is going on. And how much do you typoically pay. I paid $20.00 for face, pads of paws and bottom, and nails. But they said just for a bath and comb it was $40. plus $5 extra becasue his hair is MATTED?? I brush him everyday! Sorry for rambling. |

| I agree, learn to do it yourself. I learned how to groom my girls. They have never been to a groomer. I'm just too afraid of groomers. Sorry this happened to you and your baby.

| I'm sorry this happened to you At my groomers you can watch them work if you want which I like for piece of mind. The first thing I noticed when I walked into my groomers for the first time is that all the dogs getting groomed were so calm and everything seemed peaceful. It is really unfortunate that so many people continue to be disappointed by groomers, I read about it on YT everyday

| I can't say I get exactly what I want from my groomer, but she comes pretty close. I make sure I gave them a written list of what I want to, and if I can find a picture of something I like I bring it with me. I'm sorry they messed up your baby, and wouldn't go back again. Maybe you can ask your vet for some groomer recommendations.

| I always take my two to the vet to have their nails clipped since they seem to be able to get them shorter than the groomer is able to and I am more at ease with the process. I am still not that enthusiastic about any of the groomers that I have tried to date, so with the vet trimming their nails I can do them myself and wait longer between grooming trips.
