You're telling me! I don't know how I would have gotten through yesterday without my YT friends. ![]()

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | ![]() You could really do either one. Sweet potatoes are better nutritionally, so if he likes them - go for it! Squash is another really good carb for the little furbutts. But...one thing at a time as Sug gets back on track. Once you get him on fish for 2 weeks or so, you could try chicken again and see what happens - if bad things happen, at least you'd know the culprit. It's frustrating, but I'm so glad to hear he's doing better! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

| ![]() OH no...poor Sugar man. Gees sorry Nikki I was not on YT all weekend since My sister and family flew in. I wish you would have called me. ![]() I am happy he is feeling much better today and I am happy to hear you have an appointment with the new Holistic Vet. I am excited to hear what you think of her. Did you guys get all the stains out of your carpets? You know I have that brand new Steam Vac if you need to borrow it. How is little Sugar feeling today?

| ![]() We have a steam vac so Troy was able to get it cleaned up. Last night I put him in the bedroom in an x pen lined with potty pads and he didn't go all night. He still isn't 100% but is firming up some. He wouldn't drink yesterday so after the Pedialyte/chicken broth I tried to give him some pumpkin. He ate a few licks but didn't like it so I mixed in some chicken broth and he gobbled it up. I don't have an appt. with the new vet yet. I have to call this morning. I have an appt with his regular vet today but hope the holistic vet can see him and I can cancel it. I think if the holistic vet can see him anytime this week, I'm going to cancel the other appointment since he seems better. Wylie's mom, I went ahead and gave him the chicken because he used to be on Merrick Grammy's Pot Pie with no trouble so I figured chicken probably wasn't the culprit. Do you think he could have developed an allergy to it?

| ![]() Ugg, I'm so confused. Maybe now that he's a little better I should just go ahead and switch to the fish and potatoes. I though that by keeping him on chicken I could rule it out but now I'm not sure. I'm also giving him some egg in the morning but mabe that's a mistake. The other 2 are perfectly fine, this is so frutrating!

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | ![]() I had the same problem when Georgia stole the doritos! I was so scared/ I mean you see blood and think OMG what could it be!!!!! And the vets are so relaxed with their advice..I got great advice from this forum and I was looking for the thread but could not find it quick enough to post here for you before I left work. But I just wanted you to know your not alone to worry and I wish the vet's would understand how that can scare moms like us. |

| ![]() The new vet was great. She was so nice and spent almost 50 minutes with me. ![]() she gave him a form of acupuncture . I can't remember what its called but she said its the best form for little dogs because they are usually wiggly and this form is way quicker. You use an acupuncture needle but instead of putting all of the needles into the acupuncture points at one time she used them in a syringe type thing and injected medicine into each pressure point of the abdomen one at a time. It took about 5 seconds and Sugar didn't even know anything was being done. She spent quite a long time discussing diet with me. SHe is an advocate of raw but said that home cooking is very good too. I am going to keep home cooking until his next appt. in Jan (rabies shot) and if I haven't gotten it down by then, I'm going to switch to raw. She also gave me 2 medicines to give him, Canine Enteric Support, which is a holistic medicine for digestive problems and Curing Pill, which is a blend of Chinese herbs used for digestive problems. Okay, here's what she told me about food. If you're not familiar with eastern medicine (which I'm not), this will sound a little out there. I just decided to have an open mind and see what happens. For those of you who know eastern philosophy, please correct me if I explain this wrong- I'm still learning. Animals as well as humans have an element. Most yorkies are fire (lively, friendly, affectionate). She said Sugar is wood (decisive, assertive, impulsive). Both elements are yang or hot. Hot animals need cold food. Not cold as in the temperature but she gave me a chart showing which foods are hot, cold or neutral. Chicken and white rice are both hot- something he's had a lot of. So last night and this morning I gave him foods from the cold list- fish and potatoes (surprise Wylie's mom! ![]() Well like I said, it was all very new to me but I really liked her beliefs on a lot of things like not over medicating and over vaccinating so I figured I'd give it a chance. Here's the good news- Sugar didn't go all night and this morning he had a perfectly normal poo! ![]()
