| Is my dog food bad? I have my baby on a mix of Pro Plan and Royal Canin (thats what thw breeder was feeding him). My friend also just got a yorkie baby and when she went to the pet store to buy Pro Plan the sales man there told her not to feed it to her dog because it was junk! Now Im not sure what to think because my vet never mentioned anything bad about it. Is there something I should make sure is not in my babies food? |

| A lot of breeders lately I have noticed are feeding pro plan, one of the better purina foods I think myself..The guy at the pet store probably wanted her to buy a more expensive food. I'm kind of funny on this whole food thing anyway, I had a dog that ate kibbles and bit and lived to be 18, and I've seen dogs on good food that have short lives, so, I'm starting to think as long as the food is agreeing with them, and they have no problems eating it, to keep them what they're on if they like it.. |

| Bella was on pro plan when i got her. I eventually switched her to Canidae. http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/ this is a good site for reviewing foods.

| I would avoid by-products if at all possible. www.dogfoodanalysis.com is a great website to compare foods and also to learn more about certain ingredients to avoid. Take a look at the 4 and 5 star foods

| I personally try to feed all natural/organic foods just b/c I feel better about my dogs eating it. Then again, I'm a big hypocrite everytime I go through Mickey D's for myself. hah
