| I need some advice for my friend... My good friend Jessica is considering getting a yorkie from her boyfriend's friend who is most certainly a backyard breeder breeding "teacup" yorkies. I heard this from my sister, so I'm not sure of all the details, but I was wondering if you all could offer some helpful advice for me to show her why this is not a good idea at all. Please!

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | I would start by printing off admins sticky on how there is NO such thing as a Teacup! Maybe google some websites on how there are no such dogs as teacups and the health issues related to breeding for a small dog.

| If you want to educate people on backyard breeding just show them some of the vet bills from the Yorkie owners here.

| Thats what I was hoping for, actually. Luckily I bought Wobie from a good breeder, but I know that a lot of people got their babies from a backyard breeder and regret it. I was hoping maybe some people would share those stories. That way my friend wouldn't think I'm making all this up!

| Show her the YTCA website and their stand on teacups. Find articles that show what the right reasons to breed are and that explain what a reputable breeder is. Show her stories of dogs that have died of genetic defects because of bad breeding and the vet bills their owners incur
